Hey all you FP evo users I have a question. I have been flying hextroni 4s packs in my mini titan and I just bought a EVO-lite pack. 70g lighter :)
Anyways the balance plug has 6 wires like a 5s pack would have.
I want to change the plug to a Thunder Power type but I dont know what is going on here with the 6th wire.
Please help, Thank You,
Noah

Just plug it into 4s socket and it should work. I don't think it will work on 6s socket.
All Flightpower and Thunderpower packs use the same balancing tap, so no need to change anything. You are however correct in saying that a 4s plug has 6 leads, not 5 as you would expect. This is just an issue of standardisation. The 6th lead goes either to nowhere, or to the same place as the 5th lead. Just plug it into a 4s lead and all will work fine:woohoo

I must appologize for my stupidity. After reading your post I double checked things and realized I have been using a TP to JST adapter and just needed to remove that from my TP charger and plug the evo in.
EEERRRRRRRR DUHH!!
Also I tested the leads and the 5th and 6th wires do both seem to go to the same cell.
Sorry for the bonehead move. Thank you guys for the help though. I really appriciate it.
you might have a problem with the 6th wire though. the charger will see a voltage, so therefore a cell, and see it as a dead cell. If this happens, just neatly trim the 6th lead away flush with the plug and where it comes out of the pack, this will mean that the charger will see it as 4s, and all will be good!

I plug one of these into my Cellpro 4s in the 4S slot of the TP adapter, and the "WRONG PLUG SELECTED" light comes on.
Snip a wire? Really?

I went fishing over at the TRex 450 forum, and was pointed to this, which explains it as well. A cleaner solution than cutting, but the same result:

Yeah my TP balancer doesnt seem to have a problem with th 6th wire. And I don't charge through the balance leads so I think I am ok.
Good to know that the cellPro doesnt like this wire so if I ever get a cellPro I will know to remove that wire.
Thank you all again, Noah

I should mention that the Cellpro 4s lights the warning light, but this in no way causes problems, and it charges just fine. So, I'm going to leave it on, and enjoy the soft glow of the LED ;)
