the window and the paint sceme is different, isnt that enough?? :P
ok, i guess the canopy is fine for the "professional 3D pilots," but i would like a slightly different look! hell, you could do 3D with a plastic bottle, but that is irrelevant. i think it would be nice to have some difference between the 450 and 600. did they run out of ideas or money, or are they just lazy? probably lazy considering how long its taking for it to come out!!
i say we all email align and request a different canopy design before they officially release it!
on the other hand, it will take another year for them to design a new canopy..!
either way, i am planning on getting one. even though i can barely afford my 450. lol
when i die, i want to be buried with my helis. my tomb will read, "FIP"
sort of like the egyptians did when they buried their people with things to assist them in the afterlife.

It looks to me like it's going to have a bottom mounted motor..... I was really hopeing it be top mounted.......so that it would have a nice big battery try underneath.

very anxious indeed. i think the design of the 450 and 600 head is very well proven. i think the largest obsticle would be to make the helicopter light. if its light then it would be one deadly helicopter.

Vibe 500/Logo 500 - I think you guys are confusing helis with 500mm blades (30-size) and helis in the electric 500-class (which run 400-450mm blades). This keeps coming up and is a result of the confusing naming of electric helis, some of which relate to motor size and some of which relate to blade size and some of which don't relate to much at all.:
400/450-class = 300-350mm blades, under 1kg (eg TRex450, DragonusII, miniTitan e325, Diablo, Blade400 etc)
500-class = 400-450mm blades, under 2kg (eg Lepton, QJ-EP8, HDX500, RCT-500, Dragonus500, TRex500 etc)
30-size = ~500mm blades, under 3kg (eg Swift, Logo10/500, eRaptor550, Hurricane550 etc)
50-size = ~600mm blades, under 4kg (eg TRex600, Logo14/600, eRaptor620 etc)
90-size = ~700mm blades (eg TRex700)

I am still waiting for someone to design a new heli that takes A123 packs into account. It has been disappointing that the other brand new entries don't. The HDX500 can sort of fit a 4s shotgun pack but really needs 5s to fly well. The H550 can fit 7s A123 with a split 4s+3S arrangement but 8s would be better. The new Rotorworkz H550 frame was supposed to open up the battery options but has disappointingly proven rather limited and no good for A123.
It looks like the T500 will have an open/upright battery mount like the T600. If the T500 can fit an A123 5s flatpack (approx 145x70x30mm) that will be compelling for me but I have my doubts.

I think Align will design the 500 around the common packs - especially the ones they sell.

5S A123 would make it an instant buy for me too. You'll get 2 packs of 5S straight out of the Dewalt pack.

From threads in other sections and on other forums, ALign NEEDS to get this out. LOTS of 500 class helis on the way. Sounds like it will be a real 500 battle next year.

Yep and it better be priced well or it will get a quick sale burst and then die in the arse big time. Sure it will be good once the usual bugs are all fixed ( at the owners expense as usual). I will get one once the first model with all the bling bling is available.

I am a little confused, when I think of a 500 class I was thinking of an Eolo but the Logo seems bigger. What do you think rotor span will be of the Trex 500?

Eolo (but now Spirit) has 385mm blades.

The determining factor for me at least will be its capability on 3s2p and 6s lipos. Basically how well trex450 packs will run on this thing. 4s-5s should be the sweet spot and they should alow apalbe room for many battery options

Logo is NOT 500-class, it is 30-size with 500mm main blades.

T500 main blades likely to be 425mm to 450mm range.

Will this thing be avail with a metal head from the start or only plastic?

I think Align could make a very good marketing move by making the 500E designed to take non standard blades like 450mm so they can clean up in the early stages on blade sales until the after market suppliers can tool up to make other competing versions . Just a thought.

They made there own blades because nothing in that size was that great.
There are however in the 500 market
