Finally got to start my mini titan build last night. I received the kit as an anniversary gift from my girlfriend back in July. And while I immediately thought that was quite awesome, I was then handed another box with even more stuff in it! I found that she had ALSO gotten me a FlightPower Evo pack, a different set of (Align) landing gear, a set of 3 DS285 servos, a DS3400G tail servo and a GY401 gyro to go with it!! :wow2: Knowing almost nothing about RC Heli's other than I really liked them and used to fly planks long ago, she figured this all out on her own by doing research on different forums. That's true love fellas! :rolling
Anyway, the interesting side effect of all this is that in her travels and research she actually got interested in the hobby. She saw lots of vids of people flying and now wants to do it to. I'm certainly not going to discourage that! :D Upon giving me the gift she also requested that she be able to help build it with me...and so we were finally able to start that last night.
Got the main rotor and flybar assembled and on the main shaft so far. Can't wait to get this bird in the air!

That's great!
My wife is also very interested, most of the flying i do she's with me.
She also bought my first heli :)
She times my flights, carries the lipo's, warns me for dogs or warns people to keep a safe distance.
Nowadays you have little time left for hobbies, and don't see eachother much, It's more fun doing this together...
She also wants to buy a indoor heli and start practising.
Success!

I set up FMS sim on her laptop to practice hovering and orientations. I am doing the same for myself.
Good deal Eric! Get her addicted and your set. The only problem I can forsee is that soon our hobbies might cost $$ x 2 in stead just x 1 !!
It gets better though. My girlfriend was impatient with waiting for us to get going on the Mini Titan and last month she decided that she wanted her own heli also. I had reccommend something like a Honeybee fixed pitch (and we could both use it for practice too). So she goes off looking around the net for a deal on a Honeybee. The next day she tells me what she got and it's a Honeybee CP2!. She said, and I quote "I found a good deal for the CP2, why should I get an FP when I could get the CP for the same price?!" :YeaBaby:
We just last week got the CP2 all sorted out and fixed up (did some of the reccomended mods and tweaks, most important being the sticky collective fix). I didn't realize till after all this how twitchy those things are to fly (im am still a beginner myself and it was a handful to hover). So I told if she can learn to fly the CP2 then everything after that should be easier to handle. :p

I think that pack is great, I ran it against the EVO25 2170 and expected less zip because its only 18c versus 25 for the EVO25 but I think it has as much pop and it gets a longer run time.

Indeed. The continuous Amp rating of each pack are actually fairly close (45A Evolite vs. 54A for the EVO25). They differ more in the burst ratings ( 70A vs. 108A). But considering that I'm still learn and will be mostly be doing sport flying and some mild 3D for a while I figured it will run just fine. And as you said, give some more flight time too. :)
