Hi,
I am trying to decide between a Tango 45-10 and the new Neu 1910/H-1Y for my logo 500 3d.
I will be running 6s, a Kontronic ESC, and am a beginner.
Does anybody have any thoughts on which direction I should go?
Thanks,
Ant

where I posed a similar question, and Shawn answers what you're asking. I found the Neu at FXAeromodels...

Thanks for that th3tick,
That pretty much says it all. When I searched the Neu motor on HeliFreak I didn't see that thread, so sorry for asking something that has already been asked.

No worries. I do it all the time myself ;)
I just read your question, and knew where the answer was.

I'm going to go with the Tango - cooler running, efficient and tried and true sounds good to me. And the little bit of extra punch in the Neu - I'm pretty sure I won't miss it at my level :)
I am sure the Neu is fantastic as well, but Tango it is for me on this machine at least......
Thanks again,
Ant

Yea there is honestly nothing to regret on a Kontronik motor, they run super smooth, quite and best of all are extremely cool and efficient running. Have fun and let us know how it goes, I have never had a Tango fail on me ever.

RIght on Ant, remember to take note of the mixer arm orientation sticky on top of this forum so you get that right off the get go. Keep us posted on your build and how it goes and if you have any problems let us know so we may help you, have fun man you are going to love the heli!! :happyd

Cool thing is you can slways go up to 8s later to get the tango in it's sweet spot RPM wise... (~30K rpm) at which point it should be a total screamer on the 500.

thanks for that Fogger
Although if the wife finds out how much I have spent so far, it might be a while until I can go up to an 8s setup! :)
But something to aspire to for the future......

On paper it got a max of 25000 rpm?
But in reality it runs best on 8s?
I am hammering my head deciding if i should go 6 or 8s. I have been thinking about getting a Tango.

Cityflyer,
According to this page on the Kontronic site, the max for this motor is 30,000 rpm, therefore 8s should be fine. Also I beleive (at least with other things such as amp ratings on their controllers) that Kontronic is fairly conservative in publishing maximum ratings.

Not sure where you found 25K but the kontronik website lists 30,000 rpm for all tango motors... So for the 45-10 : 1050 rpm/v * 3.7v * 8 = 31,080 rpm. Minus drivetrain loss and whatnot should be right in the ballpark of the max speed the motor can do. I have not tried this though so it's just numbers at this point.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the RPM limits on motors are usually due to heat and not a physical limit.
