Please post - Your opinion of the model

This Trex was modeled from my new actual Model. All dimension & Mass are accurate. I taught myself 3ds Max during this process, What a great program.

Well this will be it for awhile. This model has take up a lot of my time.
I hope everyone who downloads this model enjoys it.

Hey mate,

I down loaded the file to my custom folder. When I go to look for it, it is not showing up when I run 3.5.
Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks

Black skids too? You must have been spying on me as I just added a set of black skids to my red 600N. This will be great! I can't wait to download this version and give it a shot.

Thanks again!

This version (version 9 of the Trex 600N)causes G4 to shut down abuptly, can you tell me what could be causing the shut of the Realflight program?

As I don't have G4 yet.
I can not test it.
Is anyone else have this problem?

I will look at the aircraft building info on the Knifeedge site to see if they have changed any requirments for G4.

I also get an error 95% of the time when I try to use this aircraft in G4 (it works fine in G3.5).

Fully Detailed, Trex 600 Nitro Pro

This model is an upgrade or the Trex 600 Nitro Pro - "VERSION 9" That I did for Realflight G3.5 Some small changes were made

to try and solve some problems people were have after importing the G3.5 Model. Other than that it is still the same.

A special thanks to Phrank for helping me out as I do not have G4 yet.

All feedback is welcome. Download and Enjoy

Thanks stuartmp74.

I am new to RC helicopters, already crashed my first one several times. So I ordered G4 and must say that I am happy with it. The 600 model you posted above seems to be a lot better than the helis included, can anyone with experience comment on how realistic it is compared to the real model?

Always willing to go the extra mile Stuart. Kudos to you! It's fun for me just imagining how many people are flying my model around (the red one for those curious).

As an extra treat, if anyone has seen the newest (February) issue of RC Heli Mag, they have an article on using sims and the screeen grabs they took for their pictures are of Real Flight with my red T-Rex 600N as they model they were flying. It's a bit fuzzy but you can see where my Spektrum decal is in the yellow part. There's also a white O.S. decal on the red part in between the Align white painted logos but that's really hard to make out in the magazine pictures. But download this model and fly it close and you'll see.

I may not be famous but at least my model is. Thanks again Stuart!

I have actually been flying the V9 for a few months now and really enjoy it on G3.5. I have made a few mods of my own but the model flys great.

I'm flying the Trex 600N-G4-V1_EA I found here somewhere in the swap pages of Knife Edge and love it. I had a couple problems with some of the other versions of the 600N locking up G4 but this one is faultless. Now to figure out how to change the canopy, skid colors.

got this off the knifeedge forums.
making a new CS isnt that bad

this is the copy and paste for ya

Load up the plane in G3.

The "Save" the colorscheme. Use the name that you want your NEW colorscheme to be called.

Now go into the C:\Program Files\RealflightG3\Colorscheme folder and look for a file with the same name as what you told G3 to save.

There will be two files there.

e.g.

Cap_540_bigblue.colorscheme
Cap_540_bigblue.tga

Edit the .tga file with a TGA compatible editor such as Paintshop Pro, Adobe Photoshop or "The Gimp"

http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/

Make whatever changes you want.

Changes will often create additional layers.

Make sure that you flatten only the "visible" layers before you save the file.

You -MUST- "flatten" the image to get rid of the layers first.

Then save the file in exactly the same format it was in when you opened it.

e.g. 24bit, etc.

The bit depth and dimensions are important. They must be the same as the file started with.

That's it.

Open the file in G3 and no Rainbows if you saved it correctly.
