Hey all,

I am looking closely at the 550ep pro cnc head, is anyone using the hextronik batts and getting nice run times?

I am up to loops, flips and inverted, can anyone suggest a good motor setup to run with 5min plus flight times.

Regards

Paul.

I bought three of the 2200 MaH batteries fro my TRex. I'm getting 10-11 minute hover times. They are holding up great. First hover flight on my Align pack, and it's puffed.

I am using HXT 3s 2200, Hyperion 5s 3700, Enerland 6s 3200 and I have learned to use the different lipos for their best. The HXT are ok for FFF with lower HS, no problem at all.
The others i use for harder light 3D stuff. I tried also HXT 6s 4100, those are ok to learn hovering, long flight time but too heavy.

1st 10 flight- bravo, keep 3.6V at 20A discharge
next 10 flights puff
another 20 flight , cell keep 3.4V
another 10 flights, gets warm at 20A discharge, cell 3-3.2V

I have three 4s 2200mah packs i fly in a med-high HS on a mini titan. They are not pushed hard in my setup and are holding up just fine. I am still under 50 cycles though. I only pull about 5-6C average and max out @ about 12C at full pitch. I wouldnt expect these packs to last at 20C useage. They are a bit heavy but are priced right.

3 packs 3s 2200.... puffs in less than 30 days,,,, mild flights, waiting to see if they will be replaced, but I already replaced them . Flight Powers and Air Thunders

The puffing issue is well documented. HXT had a bad batch of pack for much of the early part of this year. It had somethign to do with some contaminant that was introduced into the cells during build (because of a switch to a 'cheaper' chemical). These contaminated packs puffed with no abuse, some even puffed with no use at all.

United Hobbies are replacing all packs in the relevant date code ranges. You just need to contact their support folks and send pictures of puffed packs.

I have a bunch of these packs that I use (mainly) in foam jets / wings, but I also have the 5S 2300 MaH units in my 10S Hurricane. Too early to tell how many cycles they will provide - or if they will puff.

ukgroucho,

You are running a 10S setup, wow. What motor are you using? How long are your flight times?

Motor is a Z-power z30 800Kv. Kontronik Jazz 55-10-32 ESC with Throttle curve set at 65% gives me 2400HS.

I've only just completed the running in cycles for the one set of packs that I have (7 cycles so far) and I've been flying for 5 minutes andgetting progressively more agressive. Putting back 1100 - 1220 MaH depending on what I do... so a flight with FFF circuits and a couple of rolls put 1220MaH back, a hovering and FF session would be nearer 1100MaH.

My expectation is that 7+ minutes of heavy duty aerobatics / 3D should be possible. This was my goal (it's what I do with my 5S and 4S Trex 450s).

If the HS was backed off to 2000 or so I'd guess that approaching 10 minutes would be possible but I've not played yet.
