Did any of you guys stop for a moment to look at this blokes location?

Does London/Enfield mean anything at all to you?

Newsflash: He is likely to encounter WINTERS!

NiMH batteries are known to have severe problems with cold. NiCd batteries are better, but not much.

The usual problem is that the NiMH cell blatantly refuses to return the energy stored in it if it gets cold. Not a very good thing if you are ten meters off the deck. doing a piro.

So, if you are planning on flying this winter: Wait to replace that pack until the summer! (I'm in the process of tearing out my Sanyo NiMH 3600's now, to be replaced by a 2400 pack of Sany NiCds).

AA size` nimh batts are ok n a non digital equiped 50 ; but cant supply the current reqd by a digital setup without excessive voltage drop across the cells....it'll drop enough to reset the gyro in most cases....

I'm running A size 2000mah nimh's in my 50se; all hitec digitals and a 601, it's a 5 cell pack with a 5.3v, 10 A regulator .. it'll do 5 hard flights easily, and still not into the danger zone...

my extreme is running 5 cell 3300 C size nimh pack ,with a 5.3v reg; it lasts more flights than I want to do in a day .....its all digital and 601 too.....

As for flying in the cold (above post); most batts will drop off as the temp drops; if its that cold, I dont go flying! well , I did night fly at -1 deg C once....great air to fly in , heli loved it ; poor old pilot didn't !!!
