What is the lowest volts to fly on before charging the DX-7.
Could not find that in the manual.
Eddie
Usually don't go below 9V.. 8.6V - alarm will go off.
NiMH will loose its voltage very rapidly after 8.4V with 300mA load from DX7.

I'd say 9V is pushing it - but it depends what you mean by "fly" :)
At 9V you can probably get through one 5m flight safely, but I wouldn't go heading out to the field with that little.
A few things I'd recommend:
1. Test it yourself, see how long it takes to set the alarm off.
2. Allow PLENTY of safety margin, discharge rates are not constant and s*** happens.
3. Make the regulator mod to the tx so the battery lasts longer.
