the beeps are part of the new 'auto-detect' function. when this is active, your motor beeps out the detected cell count of your battery.

This function has been enabled in their latest firmware upgrades, either 1.08, 1.10 or 1.11(the latest). not much changed in between the three that I know of as far as we're concerned. to get the latest firmware you have to have access to a USB interface from them. If you don't have one or can't borrow one, you can send the controller back to Castle and they'll update it for you. The interface also lets you program the controller. its the way I like to do it myself.

see this post for more info on the interface:

The auto-LiPo function has worked great for me so far. I will have my laptop and programmer at Augusta this weekend and also at B-Ham if anyone with a CC ESC needs to update/change settings.

See everybody at the field!!

I picked up a Hacker 20-20L-CC Phoenix 25 for $99 as combo. Things are really getting more reasonable, especially Lipo. 3 cell 1350 $28. I've used these and had good luck with flight time-perf. First 2s I bought when first out $79. I like the Axi's, they've came way down in cost as apposed to few years back.

Bought few B/L motors, one that came with the most hardware was the Hacker 20-20L. Came with 2 prop adapters for different configurations, extra shafts, mount-screws etc., 4-5 extra C Clip retainers  etc. Excellent power-value. Picked up it and CC 25 on sale less than a bill.
