the beeps are part of the new 'auto-detect' function. when this is active, your motor beeps out the detected cell count of your battery.
This function has been enabled in their latest firmware upgrades, either 1.08, 1.10 or 1.11(the latest). not much changed in between the three that I know of as far as we're concerned. to get the latest firmware you have to have access to a USB interface from them. If you don't have one or can't borrow one, you can send the controller back to Castle and they'll update it for you. The interface also lets you program the controller. its the way I like to do it myself.
