View Full Version : Stock motor - put a flat on the spindle?

Hi folks
Building the TT MT here and wondered whether folks are putting a flat on their motor spindles for the grub screw to locate on? Or is it OK without?

It's OK to leave it as it is IMO.
Just make sure you tighten it well and use loctite on the screw.
It never came loose on my MT with stock motor.

I have had several come loose without grinding a little flatspot on the shaft but I'm using a high power motor.

No problems that i've encountered so far although a flat wouldn't hurt.

The flat just takes out that "could happen"
