I know that Ron is out there right now making a new video, so I thought I get mine out there first. It was another great day in Indiana for flying. Did a bunch of firsts today. While this video is only the turbine, I gave the Gasser and Raptor a workout also. The Gasser is starting to feel more like the Raptor each day which is making it more fun to fly. I just have to do thins higher to keep myself out of trouble.
Happy viewing!

Ron,
Didn't your mother teach you not to play in the middle of the road!! NICE FLYING.
What do you have your MAX RPM set to? Do you ever have to play (adjust) with the throttle curves in Idle up? Do you ever develop a harmonic vibration when in Idle up. My bird s very sensitive to head speed and I have to be careful when I start flying for the day. I'm talking about a 1 or 2 point change by teh way, nothing big. Once set for the day I seem perfect.

1600 in idle 1 seems to be the sweet spot.
I put a new turbine in this one a couple months back and while it was on the bench I balanced to the 10th degree everything in the head, one at a time then all together for perfection. Went to 1 thick and 1 thin spacer on the dampers behind the lock ring and realigned the engine mount to the clutch assy both fore and after and laterally as close as I could get it.
As I spool up now on propane the fan starts spinning freely and I think that may have cleared up a lot of harmonic induced stuff from the past.

Ron,
I now have the new one piece head dampners and that uses two shims. They are easy to install and you don't have to worry about chewing up O-rings. I am pretty sure that a 1,600 headspeed would be fine as mine loves the lower head speeds. I just didn't know if there was enough power for the aerobatics. I'll slow mine down a hair. I changed the top bearing block from one bearig and a thrust bearing to two ABEC-5 bearings and I think that makes it smoother. I'll have to see if the my fan starts spinning immediately on start up, but I am pretty sure that it does. I'm going out flying now so I'll let you know later.
Have a great day,
Lou
