View Full Version : Some defects with my Trex 600 Nitro Pro kit

Hi all,

I have spent the best part of the weekend assembling my Trex 600 Nitro Pro. And it has been a very enjoyable experience except for two defects:

1. The plastic see-saw kept on binding on the head when I tightened up the special shouldered screws. I ended filing a small amount of plastic from the inside of the seesaw and that fixed it. Now its working very smoothly with no play.

2. The control shaft that holds the elevator lever and bell cranks must be slightly oversized. I couldnt get the elevator lever on the shaft. So I pushed and pushed and used some oil, and now its jammed onto the middle of the control shaft. I just cannot get it off and have pretty much destoyed the shaft with a pair of pliers. And having a look at Bobs assembly video, he slides the elevator control on without any issue. I also tried pushing the shaft into the bearing on the CF frame, but it didnt really want to go in. So after that fiasco I am ordered a replacement shaft and elevator lever. :(

But besides that I am pretty happy. It's just a bit frustrating waiting for the replacement parts so that I can continue with my build.

I had a couple of issues with my kit, as well.

1- Control shaft was a bit long and there was a significant amount of side to side movement when installed. I had some washers of thesame size and was able to shim the control shaft.

2- The swashplate had one hole with threads stripped. I went to put the link ball on and it slid right in without being turned. I had to go buy another swashplate.

That being said, the rest of the kit went together great and it's been a blast to fly.

ALign do offer a ball link M3 upgrade so presumably there must be some swash around with M3 drilled holes - you might have inadevertently got one so try out the holes in your 'faulty' one with an M3 screw and if it fits buy the upgrade (http://www.wattsuprc.com.au/product_detail.asp?pid=H60120)

One of my tail rotors had an orange circle drawn on it. In the middle of the orange mark I found that the CF was raised just a little. I'm thinking that a set got past the Align quality control team. Other than that everything went together great. I still have a few things to do before I can launch. Does anyone know where to get a CF tail rudder control instead of the metal control wire that has to go through 2 holders before hitting the tail? Also what is the best 2S battery to go with for the 2 in 1 control?

I had the same problem with the seesaw. The problem is that the hole for the screw is not counterbored deep enough. The shoulder of the screw should stick through the plastic a little ways but it didn't on mine so I had to buy a new one. also my swash assembly was missing one ball link, problem is that mine had all m3 balls so when I bought a hardware bag all the balls were too small. I had also bought a couple of metal upgrades so I had to use one of the balls from that assembly on my swash instead. other than that everything went smoothly.
