677 Carb/ HELP
I have a G-26 with a 677 carb and have read that there are problems with this carb not being able to be set properly in a heli.... and also that Horizon would do a switch to a 643 or 644...
So I called Horizon and "they nothing of a problem" with this carb and that is should work just fine in a heli.... I could send the brand new carb back for them to look at but they know of nothing wrong with this unit...
So my question is, does anyone know who might swap it out for me since it is brand new and never had fuel in it????

Thanks in advance for any help....

Horizon does know of the problem in DETAIL. Zenoah is supposed to be trading out the POS 677's for one of the 64* (643, 644 or 645) line of carbs free of charge.

I have 1 644 left for sale for 35.00 + 5 S&H by USPS if you can't get Horizon to do the right thing.

Thank you Baja170, I will contact them again on Monday and see if there is someone there that will take care of me... I have had plenty of dealing with Horizon and have never really had a problem with them... but sometimes it did take a little push to get them to move.... I will let you know Monday once I talk to them... Thanks Stan

Yes Horizon usually goes above and beyond the call of duty. I bet they will help.

Horizon Serivce/Not this time!!!!!!!

Well, I spoke to them again today and according to the rep that I spoke with.... they have NO KNOWLEDGE of a problem with this carb or anything about Zenoah changing out the carbs.... (and he put me on hold while he checked with the service department!!! Go figure)
I guess that they would prefer that I trash a perfectly good heli with an engine that will not run properly and tear things apart, and then I should send it in to have it looked at so that they can tell me that the carb is the problem.... been there, done that, and got the t-shirt......
So I am out a carb.....
Thanks for the help, everyone.... but guess I will buy what is needed to make it work properly.... any suggestions on where to purchase at best price???
Thanks again.... Stan

Man...

That sucks, they DO KNOW of the problem and have for MONTHS. Weird, usually Horizon support is the best in the business. I am suprised!

Yes, I didn't expect to get the short end two days in a row, but I did.... the hard part is that they know that they have you by the "shorts"....so you have to play by thier rules....guess it is nice to be one of the only games in town.....

Thanks for the idea rcpylon, but it just doesn't seem worth the trouble.... I will just pick one up and be done with it....for now.....

So how would I go about contacting "Z"???? Can't hurt to have a spare!!!

Thanks, Stan

TRM may still have a Walbro 644 carb that will work great and for a whole lot less than Horizon. I will try to call Al tonight to find if he has any more. If I remember correctly they are $35.
