Hi all,
Could someone let me know if there is any problem with moving the tail servo onto the boom using clamps and servo plate like some other kits. I ask this as I bought a new tail rod kit with titanium rod end and support sleves to go over the join but the rod is to short for the long run of the spectra_g so I thought I will just move the servo to the boom?
Cheers
Glen

Should be no problem in doing so. It should move the weight back on the CG a bit though.

Just get a longer carbon tube. Central Hobbies has the carbon tubes for the titanium ends. They are 36 in. long. The tail servo is better left in the stock location. Lower vibes to the servo. No servo lead running across the mechanic. Better CG. Just to name a few advantages.

I agree, the tail servo is better left under the canopy where it is suppose to go. The highest point of vibration on a heli is right where the tail boom goes into the boom clamps on the frame. Yes I know there is a lot of tail servos mounted there on different helis. Manufacters of electronics have ran some tests and that is a area of high vibration .
