Yea i'm a newbe and I need some advice. I have had my cx2 now for 3 weeks and doing pretty well, I now want to hop it up some with aluminum parts and maybe a boom. What parts really do make a difference thats's cost effective. Thanks :noteworthy

Best possible hop up I have found so far? Thunder Power 900 mah 2 cell LiPo Battery. Huge Huge difference in flight times and power, plus the tail tends to stay in 1 place with no trimming needed. Other noteworthy mods: Aluminum swash ( Won't come apart) and upper head (Doesn't break) plus a shortened flybar helps with blade strikes. All the rest is just unneeded weight.

I have the X180 motors, CF tail boom and unbreakable skids on my CX2. I also have a heat sink installed and have a complete aluminum upgrade (upper head, lower head and swash) as well. She flies like a dream!

P.S. Going to get the LED slybar with shortened rods tomorrow. A couple of new LiPo packs are in my near future as well.

Frog,
How'd you mount the TP 900mah pack? I was going to go that route, but the dimesions show it as being too big....?
Thanks~

Don't bother with the swash, only the head parts will make a difference, especially the upper aluminum head, the swash is no big deal on a heli like this. It's not like the head is spinning at 3000rpm... maybe put the custom blade holders on it so you don't have to only use the crappy stock blades and they don't get killed as easily in a crash, dont have a link tho

i just tape the battery to the bottom of the holder right where the CG is. Dermablend tape is awesome, sticky, strong and leaves no residue.
I have 2 blade cx and 1 CX2, on all 3 eventually my swashes came apart from use, it doesn't make you crash , you just lose all cyclic controls, so throttle down for a soft landing. Thats the only reason I said to get the swash, it doesn't make the heli fly any better.

I have the Shaft extensions for mine and it is great no blade strikes, and the EX 180 motors, and the boom kit. I have the EXtreme boom kit and the Extreme skids just waiting on time to put them on, Plus I also have the Super skids and the shortened fly bar. Another thing that will help on turning and accelerating is moving the the Servo rods to the Second hole on the servo arm. It makes a big difference.

How do those super skids look ( strength wise ) are they like the indistructable skids just pimped up and the boom also?

I hit a rafter so hard that it twisted my shafts to the piont that they looked like a boyscout was practicing his for knot tieing merit badge, Broke the reciever platform off, Broke all 4 blades, and when it hit the ground, on the skids, it left the Battery where it hit, broke the battery try completely off of it. the super skids that I got from Boomtown were just about the only thing left that were useable. I would say I am happy with them.

I think DN Power makes some specifically for the Cx2
