First scale project

I want start a scale project and figured the airwolf. The kit I am eyeing is the century kit with hawk mechanics. Am I gonna have to build all the mounting hardware for this or does it come in the kit? Also what types of painting equipment will i need. Since the paint is pretty basic on the airwolf I figure it should be one of the easier models to paint.

I have a touchup paintgun I bought a while back. Will this work or should i get an airbrush..if so which one. Also what type of paint should I get and where should I get it? Would like to do it right the first time.
