at least that "sounds" cheaper than 90,000 yen! :D I found the kits from various companies, JR, hitec, etc.. around 799 - upwards of 1400.

i found 1 kit that runs 16 digital servos!!!! :D without a PC and lots of programmable mixers it would be impossible to do anything fun realtime with a Tx unless you spend $$$

I have a blast with mine. Best thing I've built so far was a lego cleaner-upper.. Kinda like a wheeled crab that scooped legos off the floor onto a conveyor belt and then sorted 'em by color and dumped 'em in bins on it's back.

Check out what this guy built:

I'd also like to note that you're all a bunch of impatient bastards! This coming from a person who just bought a 600N Pro because he couldn't wait for the 500! :)

Isnt that the truth!! My wife tells my that all the time! I WANT IT AND I WANT IT NOW DAMNIT!

I'd like to point out that Kyna said that "...we expect the Align 500 by November." Key word here guys being -expect-.. She didn't confirm anything, just dropped a tentative date.

I'm really stoked about it coming out soon but I'm not gonna hold my breath.. I'd rather it be late and perfect than rushed and flawed!

LOL we did too, but that was bak in gr8, now i'm in gr10 and building robots. but the equipments kinda disappoints me as you can only use the supplied servos and motors and tx. and no offense, but the tx looks junk to me... VEX equipments. i'm sure you can like program it using an external programmer or something... but compared to our radios lol.

sorry to go offtopic, just wanna share.

It's interesting that the new canopy appears to be FG. I'm hopeful that the 500 will come out mostly in CF and CNC right from the get go.

This is not good for my OCD.......I have too many hobbies (as my wife tells me). Maybe I'll start buying the support equipment first and then the heli and bateries last.....Yeah thats the ticket!

600N debuted in the same way—in 'Pro' dress first, then in 'Sport' later.

Is there any reliable word on the power system? I've heard 2 t-rex 450 packs, and I think that would be awesome, but doesen't that mean configuration options would be 6s1p(2100mah, which might be short on run time), or 3s2p(4200mah, which might be short on power)

I'm 44 now and my eyes aren't as good as they used to be and I can't see my 450 that well. I think the 500 would suit me better.

Did this work on you guys?? Should I try it on my wife now?

I just saw this over on TheTrexForums from Kyna.
http://www.thetrexforums.com/index.php?topic=2287.15

Looks like there is confirmation about the 425mm blade size and that it will have some new features over the 600. It also will be more than 30 days out and closer to Xmas (November???). After watching the flood gates open with these trickles of information I can see why Align waited so long before releasing information.

Hopefully we'll get specs on battery choices soon.

------------------------------------------------------------------------- Symon you are on top of things as usual.

The 500 does take 425 size blades and will be similar in size to the Lepton. The goal is to have them in customers hands in time for Christmas. Originally we were thinking October, but that was pushing it a little bit.

It is not a "shrunken" 600, of there are some similarities in the design but expect to see some NEW things with this helicopter.

We are all VERY excited for it's release. Testing will begin soon, so there should be plenty of pictures and information coming in the next weeks.

There will be no rush on the 700. The 700 is a very special project and to rush it would comprimise all that it could be. There is no reason for Align to just throw a helicopter together, instead the design team is working hard on taking years of experience to develop a truely unique and powerful machine. It will be worth the wait, but don't expect it any sooner than Spring 2008.

Many thanks to thetrex600forum (http://www.thetrexforums.com/index.php?topic=2287.msg23306#new) for the pic - this is the first glimps of the latest heli to storm the world, the Christmas must have prezzy for all you trex lovers, as mentioned before here its a mini 600E, many similarities but just smaller. We belive its a 6 cell model (2x3cells) like the Hurricane but still to be confirmed. There are also some new items on the 500 model, still to be seen. You can follow the talk over on the forum.... thanks again Sy.
