I'm pretty new at this heli flying, so I went thru Radd's school, doing each lesson at least twice with a Venom II. I probably have 4-5 hours on the thing and have hit the ground firmly(LOL) a few times. The Venom is pretty sturdy. The problem I have now, is when I lift off, the heli turns left, and I can't stop it. I move the stick steadily to the right, but nothing happens. I usually put it down right away before it hits me. I have found that if I jerk the stick hard to the right a couple of times it will jerk around to the right. I mean jerk HARD. Is this a symptom of a bad rotor motor, or is the gyro toast? Help!

I am a rank newbie and have a Raptor G2 with brushless and lipo upgrades (no comments please as I also am building a trex 450SE). I toasted my first transmitter before I ever flew the bird, so I upgraded to a DX7 with AR6100 receiver. Now I don't know how to get this thing to hover without spinning wildly out of control. I seem to have full control of the tail rotor when I spin it up at less than half throttle, but once I get on the collective, the heli will not stop spinning clockwise. Tail input seems to have NO effect. I'm pretty sure it's a setup problem, but I am so new I have no idea where to go. I plugged all the servos into the same slots on the new receiver, and after some tweaking, all servos seem to move the right directions, but I am lost on the GYRO. Can this possibly have so much effect that I can't even get it to stop spinning with full tail rotor?

Has anybody else tried to fly this heli with the DX7? If so, what setting did you use?

Thanks, Rick in San Diego

You should try the reverse switch on your Gyro. It sounds like you're reversed.

Your tail motor is spent. When you replace it, be sure to pick up a heat sink -- the E-Flite Blade tail motor heat sink will fit like a champ.
