hello,

Ineed to replace the antenna onmy DX7 transmitter. As I can not seem to get a hold of a DX7 swivel type antenna I amwondering if it would be safe to use the DX6 type. What's worring me is that the DX6 type has a longer coax wire aproximately 4.5" longer. Will I get reduced range?

Thanks

It shouldn't make much difference how long the coax is since the antenna starts where the coax ends, I wouldn't run 30' of coax and expect the same range, but I'm sure a few inches wont matter, I'd try it and do a range check.

The one problem with the DX6 antenna is it only bends up, seems to always get in the way, I prefer the DX7 twisted to one side.

What you can do is pop the DX6 antenna out of it's ferrule/Base piece and then push it into your DX7 ferrule/base piece. Thus creating a swivel type assembly.
