I have the AR7000 Receiver. I secured it to my T-Rex 600 with velcro on the bottom (so I can easily remove it when necessary to conveniently reach the throttle, gyro, and servo plugs). Did I cover the battery input with velcro, or doesn't the AR7000 have a designated battery input? (I think I have my battery plugged into Aux 2.)

The power can run through the BEC of the ESC, plugged into the throttle channel. If you want to run a stand alone pack for the receiver the connector goes sideways inder the gear & aux channels

Thank you frog. I wish it had a separate battery input though, as using an aux input takes up 1 out of 7 channels. That's a bit misleading. The Spektrum 6 channel receiver has a full 6 channels plus battery input.

The AR7000 has five designated channels, Two aux channels and a battery input

I dont think I have explained myself too well,
On the back of the Rx there are plugs for each of the 7 channels, and a power connection.
Look at the back and you will see each channel has 3 pins, for vertical connection with signal at the top, then plus and minus. The last 3 channels seem to have extra pins, but these extra pins are to plug power in horizontally, leaving the top 3 pins for those chanels. Heres a pic

So your power lead needs to connect at 90 degrees to the others, under them on the right

Damn! Thanks again frog. I have one of the little bastards and I didn't notice that battery input - probably because it is oriented 90 degrees from the others and even though there is a "battery" label on the receiver the location of the input isn't clearly marked. I suggest Spekrum point it out (maybe in the RX7 Manual) for 'tards like me.

You're welcome. It took me two weeks to be sure I had plugged the gyro gain into the right pin, the manual said plug it in - not much help when theres one connector and 3 pins to choose from! What ever happened to manuals that actually tell you everything with diagrams rather than asuming you have 20 years experience!

Frog,
Which receiver output from the receiver are you using for your pitch servo? I have mine plugged into "Aux 1."
Re the Gyro Sensitivity Lead, you bring up a good question about which one of the 3 pins on the receiver the Gyro Lead should be plugged into. (Really, which one of the 2 outter pins, since the lead is attached to one end of a 3 socket connector, so it cannot be plugged into the middle pin.) I have mine plugged into the pin nearest the labels ("Gear" in my case). I assume it is hooked up properly, since the "Limit" adjustment on my 401 works when I turn the screw on the potentiometer.

Yeah Dog, i'm using aux1 on my 600 too. If you look at the RX housing it shows which wires are positive and negative. the other wire is the sensor wire. Thats why servo wires are usually black/red/ and then either white, orange or yellow is the sensor wire.

Yeah, Aux1 for the pitch servo, the gyro sense wire goes in the top connector, which is the signal connection. I'm also using the Gear channel for my gyro sense.

Re the DX7 Tx, I selected the Gear Switch for Gyro Sensitivity, and programmed the "0" switch position to 72% and the "1" position to 32% (to get the Gyro to go from HH to Rate Mode). But, No matter which position I toggle the Gear Switch to on the Tx, the Gyro stays in HH (the light remains solid, instead of blinking). It does the same thing when I try using the Aux2 channel. Wazzup wit dat?

You have to go lower.
Mine is set for +53 for HH, and -45 for normal.
BTW, Love the avatar

Thanks Bull. But, the DX7 Tx Gyro Sensitivity setting does not go negative, only 0 - 100.

No its the gear switch endpoints. I'm using DX7 too. I didn't use the gyro sensitivity thing. just endpoints.
