Hi, Just recieved G3.5 and all the helicopters I try seem to wonder all over the place... most go forward and it takes constant input on the collective to make it hover. Is it meant to this or is something setup wrong. I calibrated the controller correctly... I think. But I'm having a real hard time just getting the helis to hover? And thoughts? Or do I just "suck" :-)
Thanks,
Deron

Hey Deron, you could record your flying and submit it to RF tech support and they could view via 3.5 and give you your answer

Deron,
When I first started out with G3.5, I was having the same question. What I later found out is that it almost always need cyclic input to keep it hover. You can probably hand off for about a few seconds, but will then have to give input to keep it steady again. It will gradually get easier as you get a hang of it. Also when over correcting the cyclic can also make it move all over the place faster and faster.

That's exactly the problem! Thanks. I wanted to know if it was me or the software... guess it's me :-)

Another thing to look for is the frame rate. It can be added to the gadgets that show air speed, altitude, etc. If the frame rate is very slow it will induce a lag time before stick inputs show a reaction which in turn causes over correction. You might have to decrease the realism settings in the graphics area to get the frame rate up. Unless you have a very fast computer, you will not be able to run the program at the highest settings.

Thanks. I'll check that as well...
BTW... can anyone tell me if that little dial on the top right of the controller effects anything on the heli controllers. I was thinking it was gain control. But I could be wrong. I think I checked the manual, but couldn't find anything.
Cheers.

The knob is for landing gear on both helis and fixed wing and sometimes is used for flaps on fixed wing. Other than that it does nothing on helis that I am aware of.

One of the Blade CP Pro models from the knifeedge swap pages uses that dial to set the G90 gyro gain. Just have to look in the notes of the model to see what the heli was set up for.

Don't forget about dual rates. It is the left switch on the front. Down is for reduce throw and
decreased sensitivity. Also use either normal or idle up 1 for less twitch.
