OK...Got everything 10/8 today, broke sensor on Governor so I ordered new one...Should be here tommorow..I'll fly throttle curves til then..However while looking over the heli, Ii've found a major issue that needs some attention. And I really am lost for this. I'm getting a little binding from the arms and the swash. At full collective, the arms are rubbing the top of the swash. Now I would expect something of this nature if I were trying to get 14 degrees, but I'm shooting for a very tame 10/7.5-8.....I have about had it looking at ccpm helis for a while..MY EYES are still hurting from looking at this dang pitch gauge..Anyways enclosing some pictures so see what you guys think...

both of mine look the same way when I jack them around by hand, but there is no witness marks on the swash, so they are not hitting in flight. I run +/- 12.5 and 8 on cyclic

DGW..On your Mixing arms what hole is your link that goes to the blade grip on? Mine is on the inner..Do you think this could be a issue or think its a AFR thing??
edit...IF you see this, join chat...(15 mins later) Oh well..Been fifteen mins and i'm tired of sim for the night...I will wait for your response and see if you think this could cause the binding...HFG said he thought that might be it...But I will wait and see...

the links on my mixing arms are as close together as they can get.

are they in the closest holes to the main shaft or in the middle...Coming from the blade grips, the linkage goes down to a mixing arm...My mixing arm has three holes in it...My ball is on the inner hole closest to the main shaft. Let me know about yours..

they are as far towards the mainshaft as they can go.

I even registered AIM to get in touch wid ya last night....I know this is something simple...I just can't get any more that +/-10 and +/-6 on the setup right now....anything more, and i get binding with the washout arm and the swash plate...I'm just hoping its something easy so I don't have to tear it down and start from scratch..
Jeff
Just shorten the links from the end of the arms that attach to the swashplate. Shorten them both sides by equal amounts until the arm no longer touches the swashplate. I had this problem too...
Have circled the links in question...

OK, I will try that, gotta go take daughter to Softball Practice. I have one question, because I did ponder this, and this may be my biggest enemy, but I thought that by shortening these arms, then I would lose Pitch, so I would have to give it more pitch hence causing another binding issue. My other biggest issue is I don't like messing with things because I usually tend to make things worse ;)....However, I will check this post again after practice and see what you say. I'm really appreciative of everyone taking the time to respond to this. I am not the brightest person, so this is why I rely on you FREAKS!!!!
Jeff
If you look, as you shorten these links the washout slider will move upwards but the pitch on the blades will not change. Just shorten the links enough so that you don't have the binding issue you have mentioned. The limit to how much you shorten these links will be the gap between the washout slider and the adjustable phase block above it, make sure this does not hit at full pos collective.

OK, I'd just like to thank you guys for the help. I guess I was thinking that the heli works from the swash up(which it does) however this goes back down to the swash (kinda)...Anyways...IT FIXED MY PROBLEM...I think I could pull 13+/- 9+/- now(NOT GONNA HAPPEN) I'm just gonna go 11 and 7 and I'm happy...Heli is linear with perfect movement. I already flew it once today, I couldn't wait. I just hovered it, and I was on a generic curve, but I could still tell that Knight is gonna have some POP!!...Thanks again...

It was brought to my attention (THANKS HFG AND CHEVY) that my washout arms and mixing arms need to be level...Well making the 8 turns that I made took the mixing arms to be angled down a little and the washout arms are UP a little, so now I gotta figure that out and readjust everything to make them level....They are off EVER SO SLIGHTLY...

You want the bell mixer arms slightly down 3 deg. To stop the binding on the bench which you will not get in the air (like the Doctor said) you need the washout arms up 3 to 6 %.
