I've got my EB tuned and running to what I think is pretty descent, but It seems when I'm descending and the engine is not under load - I get an engine burp (or miss) with a small quick little tail kick (maybe 3-4 inches on the tail) probably once every no-load decent/ approach. Is this normal? or is this a sign of one of the needles need twinking?

Background info: The engine seems to run pretty good. The engine smokes for a while when its cold, then runs pretty much runs smoke free after it warms up. After engine is warmed up, the heli is pretty much rock solid in a hover with no tail kicks or engine misses. Tail fins are pretty much vibration free & when you hit the collective, it goes!! - No bog, No misses & the tail is locked in. Headspeed is around 1580-1610 - through all phases of flight. Needles are both pretty much bang on 1 3/8.

Any ideas??

Thanks,
Mark

low needle needs a very little adjustment.....maybe a little richer then what it is now.

i have faced almost the same...and after adjusting low needle, its just fine.

The burble you're hearing upon unloading the engine is a sign of a slightly, and I do mean slightly, rich low needle.

It doesn't hurt a thing, other than if the tail kicks causes you to twitch :), and I would actually leave it right where it is.

At least you know where you are, just on the rich side, and that's a good place to be.

excellent - thanks. Sounds like I'll just leave the needles alone and my heart will just have to learn to live with the kick! I guess everyone needs a kick once in a while!!

If the kick is very dramatic (enough to cause shorts changing) The you can lean the low ever so slightly to clean it up
