View Full Version : Mounting FMA Ir Sensor on front?

Just curious. Has anyone tried mounting the FMA Ir Sensor on the front of the heli. I'm thinking near the top of the canopy in front of the head.

I've seen a pic of one mounted as such. Whereever you like provided it's not obstructed nor catching a view of the exhaust.

I'm guessing that most go with the taiboom mount more for ease of installation than anything else.

I'll be putting it on my electric heli, so no problem with exhaust. I thought it might be a "cleaner" look. It would remove some of the clutter from the tail/boom. Once I get it, I'll give it a try and see. I'll take some pictures for the group. I have a small milling machine that allows me to fabricate some things, so maybe I'll do something like that.

thanks. Wasn't sure if it was a sensor thing that was forcing people to place it on the boom.
