Hi All,

Currently doing a rebuild of my X400 (CCPM conversion) and I'm having trouble with setting the pitch. I seem to be getting uneven pitch at low and high stick. -ve 10 at low stick and +7 at high stick. I've watched the CCPM setup video by Finless a dozen times and seem to have a good understanding. Below are a number of points I made sure to check:

Pitch curve in radio is linear 0, 50, 100
swash is level at mid stick
end points adjusted very very slightly at low and high stick to remove any CCPM interaction
zero degrees pitch at mid stick
at mid stick washout arms are level
at mid stick mixing arms are level

after all this I'm still getting enequal pitch. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you out of Throttle Hold and using no trim?

It's very difficult to get exact symmetry because eyeballing levelness is more difficult for some people than for others. Mine's off by about 1/2 degree. You didn't mention whether you made sure your servo arms and flybar cage were level; it may just have been an inadvertent omission.

Throttle hold is off and I'm using a slight amount of sub trim to get my servo arms level. Can't figure this one out.

Hello Aussie, read your situation, and the other resposes also. I was having the same problem yesterday. Please check your ball links....CAREFULLY!!! Pull them apart, checking the ball itself for smoothness, the link for cracks, make sure that the wire link has not been tightened that it protruds through the plastic link which WILL give you binding and ruin the ball itself. Check each and every one in your rotor head. Ensure that ALL the ball links are sized and DO NOT bind. THE METHOD in the video WORKS!!!! I found that I was getting binding in one of my fly bar cage ball links. Other considerations are....check your main shaft for straightness, the swashplate bearing for smoothness, ensure that you linkages ARE 90, check also, the measurement of the ball link to the servo horns center, and are they equal in distance with the opposite servo. (pitch and aleron servos) Good luck, mate..... "if it won't fly, just throw it harder"

17 degrees of pitch!!!.....normal is about 20 or higher. Check the lengths of your linkages from the servo horn to the swash. With your throttle stick at half, check "center swash" with a bubble level. Are your pitch, aileron, and elevator ATV's set at 100? Is the swashplate "bottoming out" either on the frame orhead block, at full throttle stick travel? Something in the mechanics is binding, most likely a linkage, IMO.

Thanks for your replies everyone. I'm going to pull the head apart and start from scratch. I'll let you know how it goes.
