Hello
I required some help in setting up reflex in XTR. Im not 100% how autos are done (newbie), i believe that if the throttle hold is selected you increase neg pitch as the bird comes down (is this right?) at the right moment increase positive pitch to slow the bird down (is this right?)
Anyway i must have something wrong set up, because when i select throttle hold the pitch goes to full negative and no amount of collective will give positive pitch.

Can anyone advise on XTR and Radio settings for auto's? I'm using a 6EXHP.
Regards
Martin

You've got the channel assignments for the throttle and pitch around the wrong way
(Reflex often makes this mistake)
Hitting hold reduces your throttle curve down to zero
that's why your collective is going full negative
Just switch the assignments of these two channels around

Get up high, mild forward speed,
Looking at the heli at 45 degrees - hit hold & reduce collective to -2 degrees
Keep the rotor level
When you get down to 10 feet ease back (flare) to wash off forward speed
(you can add a little positive pitch to help with that phase)
Get the heli level (that's really important - do not hit or drag the tail)
and increase pitch as required to put her on the ground gently
You'll be over 80% collective at the end

After reading this post I decided to go back into my setup because I had the exact same problem; when I hit throttle hold my pitch goes into full negative but the engine stays reved up.

I've gone into channel assignment but I don't have a separate channel for throttle and one for pitch in my helicopter menu... Only PITCH appears, and THROTTLE is at the bottom of the page in the general menu, and they are both assigned to channel 3...

I'm quite lost here....

But I want to practice autos!

Yup that sorted it. I change the throttle channel to 3,pitch to 6 and autorotation to 5. Works ok now. However its gonna take practice and even then i cannot see me doing this for real (unless i have to!) without a trainer.
