Raptor E620 pinion question

going to get a e620 with the big thunder tiger motor does either the kit or the motor come with a pinion or a set of pinions?

It comes with a 9 tooth pinion perfect for a 10s Lipo.

is that also sufficient for a 8S lipo?

You may need a 11 for that. I forget what mod gear it takes. What kv motor comes with the kit?

Its the 2380 motor

770Kv

I ran the numbers assuming 111 tooth main

9 tooth gets 1848 rpm
11 tooth gets 2258 rpm

The heli is doing aerial photography...

My first instinct is to go with the 9 tooth

You really need something in the 1050kv range on 8s. Kontronics Tango 45-10 would be sweet also the NEU 1910H/1Y is awesome too. If your on a budget the Z-Power Z30A-800 is nice. The motor that comes in the kit is not going to be as efecient on 8s as those I listed. It's going to draw more amps than you want and make things a little hotter.

Oh ok... didn't relize it was for that. 9 will probably be fine then. Still wouldn't recomend the stock motor on 8s.

I was hoping to use the 2380 so we could upgrade to 10s as our payload increases

I saw some of the raptor boys at a fun fly this weekend in Mass and they had the 2380 running with a tp 10cell 3850 in the 620E, this thing rocked. I did not ask the pinion size. The battery came off only warm and the motor was A ok. they were using a CC110HV for a esc.
