Are they a worth while investment or just for show? In crash #1 i broke a plastic blade grip, crash #2 it bent the metal ball link just SLIGHTLY, but i replaced it regardless. I would not want to destroy metal ones in a crash, but they might be stronger and just bent the ball link instead. So what do you guys recommend?

Not the most experienced pilot here, but I would say stick with the plastic ones.
I have both plastics on my 60 and metals on the 90SE and the metal might be stronger (just the body) but the prong where the ball is attached to is quite a bit weaker (at least that's the way it look to me) than the plastic ones. They will bend at any crash and then it will be really hard to get it completely straight again and to achieve perfect tracking you'll need to mess about with the links.
Just my $0.02.

IMO a metal rotor hub is a more worthwhile investment with grips. but if your still learning i would just stick with plastic parts and keep flying.

I run a metal head with plastic grips i cant notice any diffrence in performance and they are cheap to replace if needed. If your concerned about looks then metal may be worth it. sometimes plastic is better than metal as it gives the assembly a (weak link) the plastic will snap in a crash instead of damaging a more critical or expensive part. If your new i would stay with plastic for a while , spend your money on fuel when your more confident and dont crash as much you can go metal later.

The metal TT grips are made in a way that the attachment always bends. This is a very expemensive parts. I never had a plastic bladegrip break on the raptor.
