Found this article on CNN... Airport screeners scrutinizing remote-controlled toys (http://www.cnn.com/2007/TRAVEL/10/01/tsa.toys/index.html)

Wonder what they'd say 'bout a nice heli with high end photo/video equipment? Getting tighter out there!

I've had to take my rex450 out of my carryon and put it in my main luggage.

The security rep said that the blades and sharp objects (he was pointing at the boom/tail) cannot be allowed on any plane.

I told him I've been travelling like this for years.

He said they're changing things very fast.

There will come the time when I'm not allowed on aircraft due to paranoia. I've got a 3" steel plate holding my collar bone together - I could cut it out and and use it as a sharp weapon

I've always been surprised that they think nothing of electronic key tabs. No need to go into details, but I'm sure you can imagine their potential in regards to communicating with checked baggage. Tooth paste, nail clippers - bad. Hundreds of small electronic transmitting devices - no problem!

The sad thing is you have to put them in your checked baggage with no locks, Hummmm.(thieving employee's) Not me I say, I'll just ship mine overnight to where ever I'm going...

I always lock any checked bagage. I'll then have to wait less than a minute for it to go through the x-ray or bomb sniffing machine. Never had a problem having it locked.

:rollingwhat would you use to cut it out with? why not use that instead?
:YeaBaby: but I know what you are saying.

Long long ago, when I was in high school, i was on the radio controlled solar power car team, and we had to fly to another island to compete in a state wide high school competition, We had a hard time getting though security, and I thought it was bacause the batteries looked like bombs in the x-ray, but as it turned out, the didn't like the radio cause it had a "pistol grip"
...and this is on a 15 minute interisland flight 15 years ago!
I can see the problem with RC equipment in an airplane or airport.
