Has anyone tried the Kong Power Lipo's in their Logo's? I like the idea of no puffing and longer flight times but do the packs have the grunt that the TP and FP packs have?

I have a friend using them on his TREX600 (6S 5000) and he thinks they compare very favourably, if not slightly better, with his TP packs.

That is some good news. I have heard from others that they feel the TP Extreme packs are a bit lacking compared to the Flightpower packs so if the Kongs are about as good as the Flightpowers that would be great. For the price I bought my last 25c 6s5000mah Flightpower pack I would have bought 5 of them BUT since they will most likey be phased out soon for the 30c packs I may pick up a few of the KongPower packs to try next. John from ReadyHeli also told me that the KP packs are rock solid.

Friendly heads up fellas, make 100% sure that they will fit in the bay or tray of the particular heli you want to use them in. There have been alot of people jumping the gun and then to find that these and the Air Thunders do not fit in their heli. Not saying anything negative about either of these branded packs but it is certain that they are bigger and heavier. Just wanting to make sure you fellas look into this before buying is all, be well. :smokin:

BTW Raydee you will not see the 25C packs phased out for 30C packs at least not anytime soon imho. Reason I say this is simple, the 25C range is actually capable of putting out more than what 97% + of the systems out there can actually pull. The lipo industry C wise has surpased the setups for now. 30C is for that 3-5% crowd and for special high output short term blast crowds. In time, and I do think quite awhile the 25C may not be enough but I sincerely doubt that time is within a year or so, more than likely a few imho.

Well I am just thinking they are phasing them out soon because I see more and more online dealers with the 25c packs on sale. Hell I just bought a 6s5000mah 25c Flightpower pack new for $225 shipped. I noticed that the TP Extreme 6s5000mah packs were selling for $175...not that is cheap. I sold all my TP packs and went with Flightpower and I honestly think they hold voltage a bit better than the TP packs. I run boats too and the we are happy to run the 30c cells in out boats.
Anyway back on topic.
Shawn have you tried to fit a Kong Power pack in any of your Logo's and had a hard time getting them to fit and or balance?

Well, I've been using the AT 6S 5000mAh packs on my T-Rex 600, and was hoping that they'd work on my Logo 500 3D (gets here tomorrow...). How wide and tall is the slot they need to fit in?
Taking one at random, mine are 70mm x 48mm (including velcro) x 155mm.
This also begs the question of "what packs of the 6S FP variety 'work best'?". I realize that is a tad subjective, but there's a consensus on the 4900mAh for the T-Rex 600, so I'm just curious whether there's any sort of consensus for the Logo 500 3D as well.
Thanks,
John

John,
Ok in looking at the "height" from bottom of tray to bottom of pinion you will need to be 65mm or under for thickness "including velcro" on whatever lipo you have. The max width of a lipo can be up to 56mm in width. Length is not an issue as the tray is super long.
Consensus...
As far as FP lipos the best fit for them is the 6S 5000mah brick. The 4900 will no fit under pinion and in "most" applications for the 5003D will not offer correct CG. Some who have mounted a whack of stuff in the back have been close but have had their pack a mm or two tops from hitting the front of pinion. The 5000 brick slides under with a quarter inch of room and is no concern of CG or damage.

Sorry Raydee no I have not tried the Kong Packs or the Air Thunders, and honestly I do not know anyone in my area who owns them otherwise I would try for you guys...
As far as the TP/FP thing the difference is in the cell matching that FP does.

I assume you also need a little vertical "tear-off" room as well, since just sliding them in across the Velcro won't work. I suppose if one decided to forgo Velcro, but that doesn't seem wise.
So, I guess I'm down to a single pack. Time to start selling and saving!
Thanks again, Shawn, for all the info. Today's the day my 500 gets here!

I've been scratching my head trying to figure what 10s lipos to get for the 6003D the orifice in the frames (dry fit trial as not built yet) is 70mm high and 53mm wide but it isn't a square hole as the tops are rounded (could be Dremel'd though) the depth is about 300mm so it looks like the 10S sticks are the best fit but then may run into CG probs - have to build the thing I guess to be sure!

The Air Thunder 6S packs will not fit the 500 3D tray. I bought one before I got my kit and I've just sent it back. They're supposed to be coming out is a 4000 pack; don't know if it'll fit. I've attached some snaps...it's sitting sideways in the tray.

For 10s you will need the long stick pack.
Airthunder and kongPower 6s packs won't fit the Logo 500-600 frame.....just too high.
Its a shame too because I really wanted to try one. Maybe they will come out with a 6s stick pack in the future?

KongPower also do a long version of their 6S pack, a friend is using one in a Raptor E550 which has less clearance than the 500.

We've found that a 10S 3700mAh EVO25 stick pack balances perfectly in the 600 3Ds.

I would def be interested in trying the long version pack in my Logo 500.
