I'm new to balancers and chargers.
I have an Astro Flight 109 Lithium charger and a TP-210 Lithium balancer, I use TP 5000mAh 22.2v 6s batteries in my T-REX 600 E.
I have been charging my batteries without the balancer since I only got it today, and my question is:
When I charge the batteries (single battery charge) does the balancer conects to the battery also? or is it only for self-balancing?

Does the balancer works while the battery is connected to the charger? does it balances while charging?
So far all I have done is the auto self-balancing procedure that comes in the little balancer manual, but it says nothing about charging and balancing or any diagrams or something.

Thanx.

I have the same balancer, but the TP-1010 charger, for charging my FP and AT 5000mAh 6S packs. When I charge, I plug the pack into the balancer until it stops blinking, then charge, leaving it plugged in. When the charge stops, I then still leave it in until it finishes balancing.

The one thing you're lacking is any per-cell data. With the TP-1010, I can see how far the cells are out of balance at any given time, and make decisions based on that. One of the manuals (either the TP balancer or charger) gives guidelines on how much imbalance is OK to charge (under 0.030V).

I'd definitely let it balance before, during, and after charging. Mine gets fairly warm if the pack is imbalanced, but I figure that's a good thing!
