I am a beginner. I have a raptor 30 with a futaba 9c. I was hovering about 6 inches off the ground and started to get out of control. I shut down the throttle to get back on the ground. When i did this the blades struck the tail boom and the canopy. I have been told that i may have had too much negative pitch i guess. Any suggestions on what caused this or is it me in the way i shut down the throttle. Thanks

They hit the canopy? I've never seen that.
Hitting the boom is common. You need to relax and land not chop the throttle, chopping the throttle combined with negative pitch is a sure fire way to shorten your helicopter.
http://www.raptortechnique.com has reccomended pitch curves for various learning stages.

tighten up your blades.....
You came down too fast, the blades probably folded from them being too loose and the hard landing....
Tighten them up...

What is your "pitch" set-up? Low end and high end.
