He has them but I'm in Utah and he doesn't ship out yet. Oh well I can be patient. What servo should I put with this gyro? I already have a couple of 9254 servos. Should I upgrade this servo anyway will I really notice any difference?
9254 will do absolutely fine with the 500 + DS760.

No... what he wants you to do to make sure the gyro doesnt init before the DX RX is to bind with full left rudder. Unless he has changed something in the code recently since my last setup.
Bob
Hi, i've got a concern regarding this. When binding with full left rudder, doesn't it means that fail safe is also saved with full left rudder? In an event the rx goes into fail safe mode, won't the heli piro all the way?

Not on a AR7000 or below! DX radio RX's stay HOLD for all controls except throttle on a lock out! AR9000 does not. So if your using a AR9000 then yes that is a concern.

what do you mean 500? Are you refering to my bird, if so it is actually a 600.

Oh, I must admit I did not realise that. Ah well, 'wait on low gain' is a good option for AR9000 then :)

Thanks Bob and Leeph,
Angelos mentioned the low gyro gain binding on reply #428. I just wanted to affirm my interpretation.
Boy, do I like this gyro. The set up alone is worth the price of admission plus it's so solid. I just rebuilt a tail with the 401 yesterday and after setting up the 760, the 401 was a pain.

Go to the last page in this thread and download Finless's great setup video, it tells you everything you need to know! :arggg:

Yes? Why do you make a face? I explain very well WHY that should be done on a DX radio... So whats the problem?

When Bob made the video, the procedure for binding the DX7 with left rudder was still in effect. Since the release of the new firmware version, the new procedure is to bind your tx with low gain(15% or less).
Don't really think Bob needs to make a new video for this small change;)
The left rudder procedure will still work, btw.

Ok i want to tell you that i must have (in page91 of the DX7 Manual) the
RATE:
0: 15%
1: 15%
F.MODE
NORM:O
STNT:1
and then i must go to procedure for binding the DX7 ????

I'm no expert dmpatanis, but I feel somewhat responsible since I opened this question.
On the DX7 gyro menu you pictured any value between 0 and 50 is rate mode. Any value 50 to 100 is Head holding or AVCS. If your DS 760 has the latest firmware (1.07) you can set your O position between 50-60 and your I position between 40-50 in the gyro menu. Bind your transmitter to receiver with these values. After binding reset your gyro menu values to O position =70 I position= 30.
With this set up the DS760 will not initialize until after the receiver initializes. Or you could forget what I've just written and do it the way Finless shows (Thank You Bob) on his video.
Of course the value of O position= 70 that I gave is a starting point. You'll have to test the gyro in flight to get the best setting for your set up.

is there any chance that we could see a set up vid using say a 7c radio or even a 9c, most of the setups are with the 2.4 radios. your vids are great as well

The only thing that would be different between the JR radio and a Futaba 9C/7C is gyro gain. Go watch my Trex450 vids for setting up the 401 gyro. I show how to use the gyro menu on a 7C.

The problem i have with the gyro will not correct. on the bench i move the heli around and it (rudd sevro) stays and does not move. When i move the rudder stick its moves. I have read and tried all thats in the manual. is it hardware failure ?
Can i reset the gyro without usb cable ?
I have a DX7 with spektrum 6100 reciever.

Sounds like its in rate mode still? Is the led on the top of the gyro on when your trying this ( which will indicate that it is in hh/avcs mode)..
If you using end point adjust them till the light comes on and then test, if using gyro sens anything above 50 will be hh and anything below will be rate mode...
With the dx7 your gyro sens would be between 60-70% for HH/AVCS depending on your setup and heli?

Yes its a solid blue lamp. I have tried them all,
i read erlier in this subject. He hade the same problem and in the end he returned it to the shop that he got it from. he emailed with spartan over the issue, but it was unsolveable over the web or phone. They suggested i send it to them, but he live in the US and that would cost and take a bit much. hes shop took it back..
I emailed 2 days ago to spartan with no luck, i hope for some answers from there.

As promised guys, I have uploaded a config file for the T-Rex 700N. I realize this heli is not out yet, but it will be available very soon and I know most of you are going to use the Spartan gyro.
The file is available here:
http://www.bertrc.com/spartan_config/T-Rex700_Nitro_Spartan.ssf
This file will only work with the R2 Editor.
T-Rex 700N setup notes for DX7 users:
If your gyro sensitivity/gain is configured to use the gear or aux2 channels via end points (ATV’s), set this value at 37; this is a good starting point. Also, your ATV for the rudder (pirouette speed) can be set at 120 to start. I have mine set at 140. This heli’s tail feels awesome with stock gyro settings. However, if you are hard on the tail or if you do tail reversals you might want to adjust your acceleration/deceleration settings to avoid stripping tail gears. I have already configured this on the 700 file above, the gears on the 700 are very strong and it doesn't seem to need any gyro acceleration changes, only a little less deceleration power. Simply use the file above to update your gyro, make sure your tail servo make/model is correct, double check your limits and go fly!

here is a good question on the sparton 760 gyro servo use. could a futaba 9252 servo be used with the 760 sparton gyro.
Finless
05-01-2008, 08:04 PM
Yes it can and I would set it to S9254 since the frame rate is the same BUT... don't expect stellar performance! It is NOT designed to be a tail servo...

how about the 9250 servo then by futaba.
