I have a problem with mine that someone may help me with?
I have spent the last 4 hours trying to get it to work and all I have managed to do is wreck 3 sets of tail blades. I have done the whole procedure by the book, website and Bob's methods but the gyro itself doesn't seem to be working. The servo jitters (tried 2 different servos) and when you move the heli at all wether it be 90deg or whatever distance the gyro doesn't counteract the servo. The horn doesn't move what so ever. I have tried setting it up via the gyro sense and aux2 to no avail and also to the gear channel (x9303) and exactly the same problem. I have tried different mounting pads and routing the wiring differently and still nothing. Re-binded it 30 times still no difference.
Any suggestions please??

It rather sounds like the gyro isn't initialising. Are you able to enter setup mode on the gyro and run through direction reversing and endpoint settings as per the manual? The whole process needs to finish with the gyro doing 2 sets of servo chatter. Once you power off the helicopter and back on again, it should work.

I can go through the setup process fine but then it just doesn't seem to work on start up. Maybe the gyro is going the wrong way?

sounds a little like you have selected the wrong servo type. can you double check that aswell.
cheers

The servo type is fine. The gyro sense seems to be the issue. When you swing the tail there is no response from the servo. It has to be the gyro as I have tried 2 different servo's (of different types).
The servo works off the rudder input as per normal just the gyro doesn't counteract the tail moving. It switches fine from rate mode to avs but still same problem.
I seem to have the exact same problem as 'weding' has had.
Any idea?

What is your gain setting in the radio. If the gyro doesn move the tail when you move the heli the gain could be too low.

Thanks Bob but I am afraid it isn't the case. I used the usb cable and diagnostic part of the program and gain was at 36%. Also it is interesting when moving the heli in any direction it doesn't not jump above 10 points. I have been in contact with Angelos and it is supposed to move by more than 100 points.
My local hobby store who happens to be the importer is going to replace it.

Hi Beans,
With the X9303, a gain of 36 is in the rate mode side. <50=rate, >50=HH.

Hi mporlier,
sorry I should have clarified more. I have 36% gain in the diagnostics part of the DS760 software. My actual transmitter gain on the gyro sense is around 74%.
I have been in touch with Angelos and he has provided me with excellent backup service, and by following his instructions have found that it is not working correctly. The gyro is going back to Angelos to be serviced and the importer is replacing me with a brand new one. I am more than pleased with their service and support!!

I have dealt with Angelos as well. Very good man...and quite polite when comes the time to tell me I am doing something wrong :noteworthy
In the end he was right! I am very happy with my gyro.

if your not running a gov and the kick goes away at higher headspeed, to me it sounds like you headspeed is dropping too much and even if the gyro is working right if the tail isn't spinning fast enough to hold, I would get this with my T600 when my lipo was dropping voltage to the point my headspeed would lower.

Not on a AR7000 or below! DX radio RX's stay HOLD for all controls except throttle on a lock out! AR9000 does not. So if your using a AR9000 then yes that is a concern.
Bob
AR9000/R921 can be setup to HOLD all channels (except throttle), like the other Rxes, or to physically set the fail safe for each channel.
If you bind like you bind the other Rxs (leaving bind plug in) it works like the other Rxes. If you power up with the bind plug in, and remove it before turning on the Tx, the Rx will explicitly set each channel failsafe to the bound position.

I'm thinking of buying one of these. With my DX7 would you all still recommend this gyro or would you go with the solid G. is the 8700G considered the best servo to pair this with?

hi bob, i just want to tell you how happy i am with your videos for the 600 e, without them i could not of set up my bird! it has taken a lot of money to get to the point of being ready to fly, and cannot wait for my battery to arrive, once again bob thank you very much. you seem like a friend now! one very happy englishman:)

Hi everyone,
got a spartan; a friend of mine has "alan szabo" configuration or something like this
I'm wondering if I can get a similar configuration with my 9256.
Thanks a lot,
Cédric

Huh?
I don't understand what you want... do you mean a configuration profile for the DS760 gyro or do you mean a mechanical configuration of servo/gyro?

Hi,
I got my gyro configured in normal mode.
This is what I have in my configuration file for my 9256.
the low and high points are really different, is it a problem ?

Why do you need the flash link to get your gyro working if I may ask? Most people will not need access to the special functions just to use the gyro!

I must admit that my ds760 flies more than just fine (without programming via the USB cable).
It's an inexpensive toy to tinker with, and it just sounds cool to microscope the gyro settings! MUST.... HAVE.... TOYS!!!! :YeaBaby:

Hello, what rate % we must have in normal(1500rpm) and idle1(2000rpm) flight in my Raptor 50 titan with s9254(rudder servo) and DX7???

Hello, what rate % we must have in normal(1500rpm) and idle1(2000rpm) flight in my Raptor 50 titan with s9254(rudder servo) and DX7???
The optimal gain value will vary from machine to machine - one raptor 50 with a s9254 may have a rather different gain value from another raptor 50 with s9254 with different horns/ball link distances etc, so there is really no answer to this question that we can provide on this forum, apart from re-iterating the advice in the manual, which is to set as high a gain as possible so that you get no tail-wag.
General wisdom is to push the gain up UNTIL it starts to wag, and then bring it down a couple of percentage points until the wag is gone.
