Oh yes it flew fine right out of the shoot! I had to drop the gain about 4 clicks on the Trex600 nitro as in a hard turn I was getting a little wag...
I love the feel of this gyro. In my opinion better than the logictech 6100 for sure! As for the 611 I just am not that good a pilot that I cant tell the difference but based on my skill level it's every bit as good in it's holding power. Another hard core pilot will have to give you thier opinion comparing it to a 611. I hear that a Szabo is trying one now... Maybe we will hear something from them soon.
In the end what I truely like is it's size and ease of setup and also the ability to update the software! To me it is a step up in gyro technology.
I now want to try the 650 on a 450 sized heli... I didnt really like the 2100 as it just felt odd on the sticks but the 650 could be a 401 killer on a 450!

Does anyone know if the DS760 will work with the 6100T tail servo?
Thanks

My Ds760 is just around the corner, I can see it right now flying over the Atlantic ocean! There it is! I should get it Monday or Thursday at the latest. I am certain I will be a happy flyer with this baby.

Yes the 6100G works on the same setting as Futaba 9251/6.

Pinecone,
The best part of all... when you are ready for the extra stuff for a small fee you can get the upgrade firmware and convert the ds650 to ds760! We'll even send you a red ds760 label to replace the yellow one of the ds650.

I think that's a great idea, but it has some drawbacks. If the hardware is the same, it's likely that someone's going to work out how to hack a 650 into a 760. This happens a lot with computer graphics, as mid range cards often use hobbled high-end GPUs to reduce manufacturing overheads.
If someone does end up hacking it, you'll start selling a lot of 650s and maybe not so many 760s. Wouldn't that pose a problem for you guys?
AFAIK it's a good thing, but manufacturer's often tend not to see it that way.

I am not worried about it. To do that you would need to work out how to decipher the firmware updates. If you can manage that, certain men in black will be looking for you wanting to offer you a job for cracking an encryption algorithm that to date remains uncompromised. Frankly if this ever happens I wouldn’t worry about someone converting ds650s to ds760s but about making his own gyros using my firmware.

Bob,
You're gonna love it on a 450 size. Kyle Stacy tried one this weekend at Ihobby on a Gaui 200. Saved weight over the 401 and seemed to work real well for him.
They shot some video and I imaging it'll be up on RR after they get back in the Gaui forum

What's the price going to be on the 650?
Sorry if I missed it.

Quick question, what software are you using to set the parameters in the gyro, the updater?

As far as I know Angelos has not released the PC software for adjusting parameters yet. I have an early version for testing but the public version is due out soon from what he told me.

Here is my wish list beside everything you will probably put in:
_Please program in the possibility of resetting to factory default! In case we mess up big time.
_As well it would be nice to be able to save configuration files on the local PC. You can than try different setups.

Just curious...what servos are most of you guys using with the DS760?
Finless
10-28-2007, 10:41 AM
I am using a 9256 on my 600N.
This gyro is the only other gyro I know of other than the 611 that can support the faster frame rate Fuatab 9251/56 servos.

Helirulz,
depends on the heli size.
8900G, S9256, S9254 all work well on the larger machines.
The trex 500 on the videos had 3400G at 6V.
On the trex 450 we had good results with the Robbe FS61BB and S9257. I assume the 3400G would also work fine at 6V.

If the 760 is about $210, the 650 will be about $180, right?
MarkWebber

We'll be retailing them at $185. The prices you listed were accurate a while ago but alas, the dollar continues to fall against the pound.
