I do not have equal stops either. I have set the ball distance to 10.5mm and have a great stop CCW but bounce at CW of about 1" even with the decel at 50%. I have played with many stop gains on the Spartan and gain levels on the radio and can not rid the CW bounce.

These settings helped a lot on the T-500. http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=81503&page=2

Thanks for the link. I downloaded it and will try and test it later tonight if the weather permits. I will let you know what I found.

Hey guys,
I set up my DX7 the way Bob instructs, and now I can't enter set up mode. I can enter the mode to select servo type, but I can't get into setup mode. Any advice, thanks.

Hey guys,
I set up my DX7 the way Bob instructs, and now I can't enter set up mode. I can enter the mode to select servo type, but I can't get into setup mode. Any advice, thanks.
Also, for FYI purposes, I am getting very little to no movement to servo. I was getting into setup mode fine last night but was having other issues with the 600E piroing after spool up and a little rudder input. Angelos instructed that my gyro direction might be backwards. I decided to setup like Bob instructs on setup of 760, as before I was using Gear switch to enter setup mode. Once I setup radio as Bob instructs, rudder servo started the situation where it was moving very little no matter how much input administered. Problem getting into setup also arised. Problem is, being a newbie to this, I can't seem to figure out how I was setup on radio before when I was using Gear switch to enter setup.
Either way, I can't get into setup mode with Bob's radio setup though I can get into servo select and select 2 flashes for 9254 servo. The gyro LED seems to be acting fine other than that as when in throttle positon 1 - solid light indicating HH mode. When in position 2, and 3, LED off - indicating Rate mode.
All help appreciated.

9254 is a single flash, 1520uSec servo. If you've selected 2 flashes in the setup mode, you won't get proper servo response. Redo the servo selection and see what you're getting.

Thanks Mark, that seemed to correct that issue.
Check your PM.

With the recently arrived shipment of DS760's to Readyheli, anyone know what firmware they shipped with?
I read earlier in this thread that Angelos always ships the gyros with the latest firmware at time of shipping. Would be great to know as I using a spektrumized 9303.

If you read the latest FAQ it says the version number will be flashed out on the LED if its 1.08 or greater. If you don't get the flashy at the end then your 1.07 or below.
Check it out in FAQ #29

BruceW - thanks for the info and the link - I will definately be checking once I receive my DS760.
As it hasn't arrived yet (hopefully it's jetting across the pacific as we speak) and I haven't bought the USB cable, I was wondering if anyone that has got one from the recent batch knows the firmware version?

They always ship with the latest firmware. The only time this is not the case is when an update is released while the gyros are in route to the vendor. Angelos hasn't told me of any updates that he's working on so you'll be getting your gyro with v1.08.
Happy flying!
Also, for anyone going to IRCHA, stop by and say Hi to Angelos. He's going to be there Wed-Sat. He'll have some new prototype goodies to show off, too.

it's different because the 601/611 stop gains are very powerful (hence the synergy blowing tail gears with the 601/611 when it first appeared, then people realised they should be turned down). your worrying about nothing, the gyro just needs adjusted to suit that heli. as i said i won't be able to get settings till weekend from my own.
cheers
Did you have a chance to test wit the 700N ?
Thanks

i did get a chance to test it with the 700. sorry i forgot to post.
there is NO bounce at all with the stop gains at 125 and the slider at 70%.
i'm running just over 1900 on head with an 8900 servo for tail. stock tail blades.
cheers

Hi guys,
Currently, I'm setting my ds760, it is used on an Aurora that is coupled with a YS91SR... my gain is around 20%(!!!!) in AVCS mode... the thing is that if I do higher the gain my heli is starting to shake...
I know that I still need to work on those needles but... hey I would like to know where you've end up for your ds760 gain setting???

make your servo arm shorter and your gain will be higher if you want. that said if it works and your happy why bother?
cheers

The manual says much below 35% and you should move in on the servo...but I see a lot of peeps running less than 30%. :dontknow

I really don't think that the servo arm length is that critical... the manual is stating that it should between 13 and 17mm, I've got 19.5mm... the only impact might be on the endpoints and on the servo torque that is necessary to move the tail blades... it shouldn't impact the gain itself... (just my opinion!)

OK guys, I've lowered the servo arm length to 16mm... it has resulted in the fact that low and high endpoints have moved by 20% (!!!!!!)
120 on each side now...
That's impressive, I guess that now my gyro will be more able to cope with its task, at least with 20% additional accuracy... which might ultimately means that my gain could be highered even more...
Thanks a lot guys... (stupid, always apply what is mentioned with the operating manual :-))

Angelos,
I live in Tonbridge, Kent UK and have just putchased a 760 for my 600 nitro but I had to buy it on the web rather than my local hobby store as he cant get any reply from Spartan. What a pain, I spoke to the owner of the shop and he tells me that he has sent several e mails and left messages for Spartan but has not heard back from them. He really wants to stock your products so please can you contact him. He deals in alot of helis and am sure he would sell plenty.
I look forward to hearing from you and the stores details are below.

Spartan does have distrubutors over there that he should be able to order from, also. I can't believe than an established shop would not already have an account with the distributors.

Apparently he has contacted spartan but never got a reply, but on speaking to Angelos they have so must e a break down in communication somewhere.
Anyway a question please.
I have installed the DS 760 on my Trex 600 nitro with a JR8900G servo, i have followed Bobs setup vids and the manual but I find the servo chatters all the time, is this a faulty servo or do I have something set up wrong??
also I am using a Spektrum DX6i (no govenor) what gain should i be using?
and as a newbie can someone explain the gain settings and what they do?
Many Thanks David

I'm a little confused with the V1.08 firmware and the delay that was added for Spektrum radios. Is it no longer necessary to bind with the gain set at 10% as was directed in V1.07?
Also, does anyone have any general setup numbers for the X9303 on the Trex 700 with a 8900G? Ball spacing and gain numbers (in JR numbers)? I can't remember the damn equation that goes from normal % to JR "Gyro Menu % :arggg: Something like JR Gain - 50 x 1.44 = Actual....?
Thanks guys!

This is the deal. Set up the gyro with Futaba 9254 servo per Finless Bob's setup video. The problem I'm having is the Bird wants to piro to the right (nose goes right).
I tried the Flash Link cord also. Anyone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong, and also might share some setup info for seting up gyro with software and flash link.
Thanks,
Mike
