Another little build tip.

A few things the manual didn't say to loctite. Very bad. I've noted the things that need Loctite. I ONLY pointed these out for the Logo 6003D Flybar build. Chime in if I missed some.

I'm guessing the screws into the motor mount are based on the previous version that had the plastic version which has since been upgraded to the metal one. It sounds like we'll see version 1.2 of the manual soon since I'm guessing that Mikado is following this thread. Nice detail on pointing out the loctite requirements. A lot of this stuff would be lost on a nOOb and its why threads like this are good for sharing.

The V-Bar Rotor Head on p. 13 lacks loctite instructions for:

step 1 - the two screws that go into the base of the head

(my 500 3D build is finally underway ;)

John

EDIT: the one in step 7 was there, just hard to see

I didn't have but one of these bolts in the kit. Sure it's no big deal, but I'm trying to go through everything with a fine tooth comb for you guys. I have some comments to make about the flybar system later...... Giving it a final tweak.;)

Thanks heaps for the work put into the build thread and pics Jeremy - very helpful - sounds like there's a few QA issues though - don't like short bolts or chaffing bits of rotor head - plan to start mine tonight !

Thanks John. I was fully prepared going into the build knowing that it's going to have a few hiccups. I'm still NOT disappointed at all!! This heli is by fare designed and constructed better than anything I've seen. The biggest downside I've found is the Flybar See-Saw..... and the tiny screws used to hold it's pivot bearings in the head block that rub the flybar cage. Also this see-saw is causing a very slight bend in the flybar itself. I will have much to say about it soon, as to how it needs to be assembled and tweaked.

Got my flybar reasonably straight but still has a slight crook in it due to the see-saw material and molding process.... not like the rest of the heli.

Read my conclusion in the last pic.

I am going to have to take another look at my 5003d head now. I didnt notice any issue putting it together but now i will recheck to make sure. Thanks for the pictorial.

It's the same flybar carrier design as has been used for many years on all previous Logos. I took mine apart the other day to check the bearings and it's identical and there is no bend. Are you sure there isn't any burrs or anything inside the bearing housing?

I'm sure.... went over it and over it and got it good enough but still. That piece needs to be more precisely made.

EDIT*** I may have got a bum one because the rest of the kit is great then got to the see-saw and no matter what I did or how many times I took it apart still the same crook at the same angle. It's not very bad but still I know it's there.

Put the tape on the flybar paddles.... that was fun. Started mounting the tail and cyclic servos tonight. I love the servo tray being molded into the main frame... nice:) Going to my LHS tomorrow to buy servo horns and some M3x30 bolts.

I have a 401 gyro and was thinking about selling it and buying the new Youngblood gyro. Anyone know anything about it?

I got to see a CY gyro in action on the weekend. It took some finetuning to get right and the pilot ended up being content. He claimed better than a 401 without doubt but not enough time on it yet to know if it measures up to a 611.

This my thinking.... I own a 401 and want something better, the V-bar is yummy but $$$. So I figured be content with what I got and wait, or get the Youngblood gyro and wait longer. I don't want to buy a 611 being it's over half the price of a V-bar.

Maybe I should just stick with the 401 for now and when the time is right sell it for $95 and buy a v-bar.

Christmas is right around the corner...... maybe ask for money like I did last year. That would help a lot....

I hear the Logitech one is great, but I haven't flown it myself.

Yep, I've heard the Logictech 6100 with servo is a great gyro setup for around $290. Also, the new JR G7703D/S8900 ($260) might be good but someone at a hobby shop mentioned some tail holding issues on his T600e compared to the Logictech but since this is all hearsay you'll need to get opinions from others who actually know.

I'm running 9252 on the cyclic and 9254 on the tail so you guys know my setup. Also trying to decide on selling my CC85HV and getting a Jazz 55. I'm now leaning towards the Jazz after reading a few threads about the CC85HV taking a dump..

Jeremy the Solid G is ok, so is the Logitech for sure, but no one here can deny they take abit of screwing around for sure. The 401 will certainly serve you fine, if you feel you are going to be getting into some serious 3D with this machine than perhaps opt for something abit higher grade. But this all depends on your style of flight and what your gains might be....

I'm not bad ass at flying... loops, rolls, flips a few other things I don't have names for. Sometimes after I have a beer or two then I get stupid. My friends are laughing their asses off as I start the insane abuse..... notice i didn't call it 3D.

stick with the 401 if you are waiting to buy a Vbar - it will serve you well into 3D flying.
Just my 2 cents.

Build tip..... Not a mandatory one just something to make it easier on you during your build. If your building your kit and you don't have the REAR tail servo yet, then keep building! Don't let this tip stop you. Just makes it a little easier.:)
