Is this the same one that comes in the box for the 6003D?

MIK4130 - Canopy Logo 600 3D Fiberglasshttp://www.espritmodel.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=6502

I also noticed that Espritmodel has two different kinds for the Logo500 3D

FG model (MIK4109)
http://www.espritmodel.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=6474

and standard (MIK4111)
http://www.espritmodel.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=6500

They show these as not in stock but I assume they are coming.

yes.

I think they could even get away with the same thickness, but reinforce the edges, and the mounting holes. My only real issue is edge tearing...

I agree 100%!! That is a great compromise.:noteworthy

I can see your point about the paint and will agree on that for sure. The Lgoo 14 canopies were very thick, in fact to heavy and thick. I think they realized that and maybe went abit overboard to some peoples liking "obviously". I guess best to do is to email Ralph and co. and let em know you'd like to see a thicker canopy, or "hint hint" start a poll, run it for a week or two than copy and paste that link in your email. I can't change it for you only help you on how to.

I am actually surprised that the biggest gripe here is the "strength" issue which imo is not a "quality" issue (everyone has their own standards for quality), and not the $95 price tag for a replacement. interesting......

New Mikado part: MIK4xxx Logo600 (reinforced) Canopy - $125

I think this is a great opportunity for someone to jump on this and make a "heavy duty" canopy for everyone out there. By the looks of the poll you are guaranteed to sell 23 of them.

:P

"Strength" "Quality" Whatever you want to call it. The fact remains, the canopies are coming apart to easy. I don't think anyone is asking for a canopy to be the weight of a brick. Just a little extra R&D and reiforcement so they will be a little more rugged. We are talking 20-30 grams. Maybe not even that much.

What's wrong with that!?!?!?!? Do you want your canopy to come apart? Do you get pleasure out of seeing a nice split coming up the side?

Back to the build thread!!

I flew my heli balls out today!!! This thing flies great :clappp!! Light as a feather. It flies better than ANYTHING I've flown before. I can't imagine a V-Bar being better but I'm sure it is in many ways. I will be buying one of those next!

So, I haven't seen a synopsis of your full setup. Share, please?

Glad your bird is flying. Hope to get back up tomorrow myself. Two good days of weather left, then turkey!

Couldn't agree more Jeremy - although we don't have a big heli presence at my local FF (x15 30-90) I think my L6003D effortlessly outperforms any of the other helis in terms of lack of bogging, tightness of cyclic response and climb rates - if it takes a paper thin canopy to achieve that then so be it!

Did you guys buy Nylon landing gear screws?

I bought some when I placed the order for my 500 (M3).

I don't have a very hot setup but for the way I fly sport (loops, rolls, tic-tocs, slall turns etc.) it works great. I'm no 3D pilot nor clame to be, but I just enjoy flying sport. When I have had a couple of cold ones I tend to step out and do crazy stuff and amuse my friends until they piss thier pants or the heli crashes.

NEU 1912/1Y/H
13 pinion
Cyclic 9252
Tail 9254 with voltage step down
Gyro 401
RX AR7000
Jazz 55 ESC
Hercules 5amp HC BEC
Youngblood 600mm blades
Flightpower (2x) EVO 25 5s 3700
I run 12 degrees of pitch +/-
I run everything on 6v other than the tail servo

I'm not sure about temps as I just feel around and decide if something is to hot or not. I don't have a tachometer either so I couldn't really tell you about my headspeed. I just go with what feels good.

It's really a simple setup. I would like a better gryo..... when I get my V-Bar that will be solved.

I don't have a very hot setup but...

Perfect! Thank you! That really help me fill in some of the blanks in my future plans, as I wasn't sure about the rest of the power system. :noteworthy I'm still wafflies on the servos and such, but have some good range now in the list. The V-Bar is mandatory, however ;)

I'd say that is a pretty fantastic setup Jeremy, not basic imho. I am really curious can you tell us what Headspeeds you are seeing with that motor and pinion and at what % please? I am really considering this motor on my next build down the road.

After 3 flights the head links are loosening up real nice. Even the big ass flybar links are getting looser. :)

When you get someone with you to tach it please post if thats cool man, I am really curious as no one with that motor yet has running HS.

A big thanks to Jeremy for his step by step build thread. If anyone has any direct questions in regards to the thread and the 600 build and wishes to take any of that up with Jeremy directly they certainly are welcome to. Once again thanks Jeremy for the great contribution. :smokin::smokin:

Been a while since I did an update.....

The Logo 6003D is performing great! I have made a few changes to my setup and that is a Tango 45-07 motor. The NEU would thermal the Jazz 55 ESC towards the end of every flight. Got old fast. I'm very happy with the Tango but it doesn't have the power of a NEU 1912H/1Y. However, it has been proven if you want to run a CC 85HV and the NEU 1912H/1Y you can.... but I've been told the head speed can be kind of high but makes tons of power!

Also I went to a Solid G gyro and really like it!!! Easy to setup, has a consistent piro rate. Highly recommend!!

I'm still VERY happy with my 6003D! It flies better than anything I've ever flown and is a real winner. It may cost a little more than other helis in it's class but it's worth it in the end no doubt. I'm already making planes to get another Logo 6003D or 5003D!!!

I just started my logo 600 build today! Couple of problems:
1) pin for tail belt pulley was too short so i had to make one from something else
2) missing 1 3X6X2.5 bearing for the tail pitch arm (ordered new one from bearing shop)
3) the manual says use only 1 .5MM shim above the tail belt auto drive gear, i had to fit 2 as the main gear was rubbing on the belt pulleys!

Also instead of glueing threaded rod on the boom support it now comes with ball links that slip over the carbon tube, a touch of glue and its done!

Also i push the boom in all the way and adjust tension on the tail box.

Did not come with counter bearing, i am running Z50A 780KV motor, i know another guy with this and no counter bearing so it should be fine. 13T .7mod pinion.

Any other tips/comments/things to look out for???

You will need to get a counter bearing for this motor or else look forward to stripped gears, a bit of glass reinforced adhesive tape helps boom slipping case. I too used 2 shims above the main gear. Strut ball links sound better":)

I'm sitting here making the same choice. Right now, it's flying well, and I likely don't need more power. Switching back to the 1912/1Y/H with the CC85HV would give me that power I'm missing, but at a likely cost in flight time.

So, I don't *need* the power and will lose flight time. Then why do I have the motor and ESC sitting on my bench, begging to be installed ;)

Insane power is addictive...

Thanks, I found the missing bearing on the floor it fell out of them main packet, it wasn't packed with the other bearings.
Boom is holding very solid, i don't think it will twist.
I did the test flight today and it went well, build took about 8 hours from scratch to full setup and fly.

This motor is not very high power, i am hoping to not need the counter bearing, i know another guy with the same setup and he has done probably 50 or more flights with no counterbearing and no problem.
I did get a main gear just in case.
