Anyone know the number of poles on the stock Gaui 850 Kv motor?
Motor has H/18/H on top, guessing 8 or 9 based on my Eagle Tree data?

I read somewhere is 10 pole. I put 10 pole in the Eagle tree and it gives sensible numbers.

Thanks interference, I'll give that a try. I initially tried the 18 as stated on the motor, but the Eagle Tree data was only about 1/2 what I expected. I might set up my old airplane tach, set my pitch to 0°, spin up to a known rotor rpm, and see how close it matches the Eagle Tree data at 10 poles.

i concur that it's a 20 magnet 10 pole rotor on the stock gaui motor :)

I'm a bit of confused on my Jeti ESC reading, with 10 poles setting, I got HS of 2100 with 14T on stock 850KV motor. I think this is not possible to get this HS with my current setup.
On testing, I noticed that it was significant reduced in HS and power comapre to the stock ESC.
So I think is either the no. of pole is not 10 or my ESC is not accurate???
I think the stock motor should be 12 pole.
I got max HS of 1873rpm with 100% throttle when I set it 12 poles in the Eagletree.

the stock motor is 10 pole, 20 magnets. in fact with a 12 tooth stator a 12 pole rotor wont work, period ;)

My stock setup: 14T/42T 850kv
I have tried 10 pole and what I got was HS more than 2100 which I think is not sensible reading.
Do you think the stock that I have here is not the same as your stock motor?

it's possible the motors are different but with a 12 tooth stator lrk wound only 10 or 14 pole rotors work ;)
