OK Guys,

This is what I was able to achieve 54mm in height complete. If you were to remove the base tray you gain almost another 2mm and for those who would like to run A123 in triangle packs you can also remove the upper tray for an additional 1.5mm for a total of 57.5mm in height

I will have pics later on of my ready to fly heli

Charley,

I really do like that blue frame and sort of hoping that will be your de-facto standard. It just looks cool and not like the others. Makes it stand out in the crowd.

Well... I hope to have some kits Soon generally it will take 2-3 weeks to get all the CNC Parts.
Soo Yes I really hope way before Christmas.

The blue with silver is done by me the base color of those frames is like a cream color so I painted them does look cool I think I will do neon stuff with a pattern next :D

Hmm, any extra canopy post mounting holes so we can use better looking canopies?

I quite like the H550 canopy but I am interested to know which others you have in mind ?

I dont really know, I dont know too much about these 500 sized helis... I just dont like the hurry canopy, because the entire canopy just looks like its pointing down. Maybe a logo 500 canopy if it fits? :dontknow

Oh, OK. I don't like the Logo canopies at all myself, but it's very subjective.

BTW, just to clarify, the H550 is not a 500 size heli, it is 30-size. The naming is confusing but works something like this:

400/450-class = 300-350mm blades, under 1kg (eg TRex450, DragonusII, miniTitan e325, Diablo, Blade400 etc)

500-class = 400-450mm blades, under 2kg (eg Lepton, QJ-EP8, HDX500, RCT-500, Dragonus500, TRex500 etc)

30-size = ~500mm blades, under 3kg (eg Swift, Logo10/500, eRaptor550, Hurricane550 etc)

50-size = ~600mm blades, under 4kg (eg TRex600, Logo14/600, eRaptor620 etc)

90-size = ~700mm blades (eg TRex700)

I don't want to take this thread off-topic. All I know is that it is in the works and rumoured to be due out before Christmas.

CF kits will be cheaper than other frames ;) Silver and G10 even better

f you are unable to accommodate these configurations I am sure the frame will still be popular, but not as an upgrade to most folks with existing investment in 3s packs (or 7s A123)

Yes I also would assume the majority of people that go with a Hurricane would be stepping up from the likes of a 450 size heli and thus have a collection of 3s 2200 packs batteries that said i found it quite odd you wouldn't cater for these people with your design? seems your cutting your market considerably.... :-S Not being able to take the A123 batteries (which i am in process of buying also) or my collection 3s 2200 packs combined with the actual low down battery placement will see me and I would think others in similar battery situations opting for the Gaui CF frame, which IMO also looks visually more appealing and Im betting will be cheaper due to their 'mass production'.... the servo and electronic placement on the Rotorwork frame just looks....meh. Just my two cents worth absolutely no offense meant/intended whatsoever...simply my thoughts/observations ONLY

I commend you on your efforts producing a frame for those wealthier owners of the Hurry that can afford the 6s batterys though :-)

Looks good Charley, this may be a reason to get my hurrie flying again. The stock frames just dont make sense but you seem to have taken care of it for us.
