Thanks Charley.

Another question maybe I want to buy some more Rotorworkz FCS Frames. My silver FCS is shipped now :-) Whats the difference between the g10 and CF frame in strength and weight?

Hi

I have received my brand new Carbon frame yesterday after two weeks of wait. It’s very nice I really like the detail and finish of it. It was well worth the wait

Last night I ve stay up, building it, until very late as you could understand I couldn’t wait. I have finish the assembly and when installing the shaft and gears I ve notice that spinning the main shaft has very hard!!!!
After a close inspection I found out that when spinning the shaft a cracking noise starts as like all the gears (Autorotation gear, secondary and pulley gear) are to close together and when spinning they make this noise with each other.
Does anyone come across this ….Can you help??? I have followed closely the internet instructions and I think I have built this as close as possible….

Is there any way I can install the metal bearing housings a few millimeters away from each other in order to free them a bit and move more freely.

Could some one please explain to a nob what the big difference is between G10 silver CF and black CF except the price ! espescially black and silver CF! isn't it both carbon Fiber????

I am lost here!

I really like this Frame Design. With the stock frame i am unable to balance my heli with the bigger packs i am flying!! even with the tailservo on the boom.

the only thing that holds me back from ordering one right now is the problem withe the bearingblocks not beeing in the correct spot as Madedon wrote.

Is this a genral issue or just a single case??

I got the same problem with 3 of frame I bought from helidirect. the silver version anespecially with 20T oneway bearing gear.
I have to hold out the fiber to move this a little bit oneway gear and front tail polley out and itis smooth.
However I have the tail vibration with headspeed under 2200rpm. if about 2400rpm it seem ok.
I got 20 flys and can not fix the tail vibration upto now with about 2000rpm.

the silver "carbon fibre" is actually texalium, fibre glass with aluminium, so no it's not carbon fibre ;)

I can't say enough about this frame, yes you might have to slide the tail pully bearing block back a bit, but honestly I preffer to have some gear mesh adjustment anyway!! so enlarging the bolt holes is no issue and is a 5 minute fix! with the servo layout and the positioning of the packs, the Heli, rolls so much smoother it flies like a new heli balance all around is so muh better

are all the frames requiring the adjustment...or is this a first set type of thing...

also what is the final battery pack room...

I assume it will be all, but it really isn't any kind of a problem, as for battery room, the final dimensions were posted on the previous page

So then am I to assume that this is so minor that it does not require a whole lot of adjustment. I would like to get one but want to be sire that these frames are working well. Also does anyone know if a 6s 3700mAh flight power pack would fit without any cg problems...I have chassis mounted tail servo...thanks again...

no this is very minor, mine was off maybe 1/2 mm, just enough to be tight, I am sure if i would have run it it would have loosened, but I choose to drill the holes out just a tad. I have 35+ flights on mine now and every flight I am glad I made the change. I don't know why but it flies better, i assume it has to do with the servo layout is raised up and more of the weight is downthe center of the heli, it rolls much smoother, and of course I can achieve perfect balance with either my 6s 2500 packs or my 8s A123. as for the 6s 3700 packs, I assume you will have no problem, I do know for sure the 6s 3300's fit with room to spare.

are the bearings included or no...i am starting to lean towards this frame upgrade as the reviews are awesome...

bearings are not included, you use the originals, I considered ordering all new but once you pull the electrics and the main parts from your plastic frame it's only another 5 minutes to split the plastic and pull the bearings out. it does include bearings for the 3rd bearing block on the main gear and a few others though.

looks good, what motor are you running?

Hi C1, that's a Hacker A40-10XL 8 pole heli motor. So efficient and powerfull. 20t pinion on a 68t first gear. 7-8 min normal flying.

@Vinger

I am not familiar with the G10 material. Why did you purchase that over the Carbon Fiber? Is it only because it is cheaper or is it more chrash resistand?

I realy like to buy one of these Frames but i am not sure what material to get.

Thanks

I basically chose the G10 (fibreglass) material as it is cheaper and a bit more flexible than CF, so crashes would not break everything. I decided that the CF version would not warrant the extra cost to save a few grams, that I would not notice anyway, I rather elimenated the RX battery and used a BEC to save a ton of weight.

Also G10 is not conductive like CF so far fewer static issues and no risk of cables/connectors shorting against the frame.

what balls are people using on the aileron links... the stock size screws dont fit...any suggestions?

concept1

any fine threaded ball screw will work, I don't recall if the stock screws were fine thread or course. when I built my plastic frame I replaced all the screws with longer ones which I had from my Trex.

ps61785

fine thread...but it needs to be bigger than the stock ones found in the gaui aluminum arms...
