Hello, does anyone know if you can use a 9254 servo with the 601 gyro unit??
Thank you,
JH

It is my understanding that you cannot use the 9254 with the 601. It requires a specific servo. (I am only going on what I have read or been told, take it for what it's worth)
absolutely not, the 601 works only with the 9251

The 9251 servo will only work when plugged into the GY 601.
9251 and GY 601 are a dedicated combination. No subistutions.

I'm not sure that this is as straight forward as the above replies might indicate. There is supposedly a hidden menu that allows one to program the GY601 for use with a "normal" servo like the 9254. I don't know the details and would suggest a search on RR as this very topic was discussed there some time back. I suppose, if you do burn up a servo that the warranty wouldn't cover it, so you're on your own there. Good luck. steve.

I think Steve9534 means the 9254 is a regular Digital and not made for the High Frame Rate output that the 601 has or whatever it is. :)

This is taken from a post by Angelos on RunRyder, regarding the use of a 9254 with a 601. Here's what he said:
"Initially do not connect the S9254. Make sure the transmitter is already switched on. Hold down both "Func +" and "Func -" buttons of the gyro while powering on the heli. This will bring you to a hidden menu. Find the parameter PlsW (Pulse Width) and change it from Nar to Wid. Then plug the S9254 and it shoud work. If the servo does not appear to be moving (probably binding one one end) unplug the servo asap and check if you set the PlsW correct."
Just want to mention... I have NOT tried this, as I do not even own a 601. If you want to try it, it will be at your own risk. I believe Angelos knows what he is talking about, but I CANNOT verify his information at this time.
Good luck if you decide to try it.

I also have heard the above. But I have not heard of anyone that has done it. I also the same could be done with the GY 502 to use the 9251. But again I have not heard of anyone with experience of accomplishing the above.

The above instructions will work. I have done it and tested it. Pretty much a waste of a 601 but will work. The 502 will not however work with a 9251 in the stock form. The 9251 is the workhorse of the 601.
