eny idea wat servos they might be puting in the t-rex 500 i think it would be cool if they were somthink like the s9650 hope they are abit bigger then the hs-65mg

This was address in another thread but I think the 9650 or the 9257 or the HS81 will do and for the tail 401/9254 or better yet JR770 3D/8900G only $30 more, will be interesting to see....

How about for cyclic? What might be the servo choices? Any idea anyone pls?
I'm also waiting for the 500, and might as well get the electronics first if possible. You know, getting the whole package with 2 to 3 lipos at one time really hurts.
BTW, is 4S good enough for this heli?

BobbyK already told you...

the 9650 or the 9257 or the HS81 will do

3S to 6S should work - all speculation at this point though.

Andy is running 9650 in the prototype.

I am going JR3400G's myself.

I'll be running HS5245MG as they are MORE crash proof than S9650 or JR3400G

Yea and you need crash proof too ;)

Does anyone know if the output will be 4,8V or 6V from the ESC ?

Do you guys think the jr 3400g is going to be good on the tail with a jr 7703d gyro, or should i go with a 401 and a 9254 full size tail servo?

JR 3400G's all the way, i sure hope that they will come out with a metal gears in the future

Thats what i was hoping because i would like to keep the weight down as much as possible, thanks for the quick reply.

I have so many 9650s laying around from my 450s that I'll probably go with those for the cyclic.

You wont go wrong with 9650's either!

Between the 3400 and the 9650 which seems to be more durable in a crash.

I'm not sure which is more crash worthy but it appears to me the 9650s are significantly cheaper, and have more torque.

fwiw..

Anyone up for trying 94761 Atx servos??

John.

94761's Might work (they were great on the Lepton) but are a different sized so mounting might require some mods no?

spencer737, I think the DS3405 is the european equivalent of the DS3400G.(Re-badged, so say say) but it comes with metal gears. I use it on my 450s.

Is that new HS 5082MG out yet? (digital, metal gear HS81)

Any idea wheather the hs82MG servos will be good enough for cyclic? Will it be a good fit into the frame? Cus lots of you were saying 9650, and i checked the dimensions of the hs82MG and it seems smaller than the 9650, maybe some mod needed?

Will the JR3400G be ok to use for Cyclic,
I thought this was a high speed tail servo ??

aballen

I think I'm going with 9650s all around, but I'm curious some are looking at the 3400Gs, which are great servos too. The 9650s look cheaper and faster, am I missing something?

I know Alan is flying 3400Gs on his, is there any other reason these are a better option?

Thanks guys

I've decided to use the HiTec HS-5245MG for cyclic because they have metal gears and more torque than either the 9650 or 3400G. I've also decided to use the new 9257 for the tail servo because of its speed of .08 sec @ 4.8v. Thats 50% faster than the 3400G. This combo seems pretty good to me!!

wow, you may have me converted as well, though I havent had much luck with hitec servos lately. Hrm, what to do?
