Thought I would let you all in on what I have been doing lately. I have been very happy with the performance of the stock Ion Hacker for a long time but decided I had to try this new 32-3 heli motor so I called up Chris, he got me one and assembled the components needed to use the motor in the Ion and sent it out.
I have seven flights on it now and the power and head speed are both increased over the Hacker, head speed is over 2k and it has the power to hold it very well. This motor does not get hot!! Also my batteries are running the same temp as with the hacker and not using any moor amp hours then with the Hacker either! Moor power to the head with no moor energy usage so it would seem to be moor efficient! Definitely worth the change :glasses:

well , about time you try this motor , it is one hum-dinger of a power house, the hacker is great , and has the sound to go with it , but that actro just has some snort

Where did you get the Actro motor? What was the price? Did you use another speed controller (assuming you're using the one that came with the powered Ion-X kit)?

Min Air, they don’t have any now but they do have some on order. I don’t know what the price will be since these motors are coming from the factory. Chris has changed his mind on how to run these motors, he used to run them at 20 degrees but now under 10 so timing mode 1 on the original hacker that came with the Ion, so you just leave the controller alone.
I was wrong about the battery usage compared to the hacker, this motor is using 500 to 1000 mah moor in ten minuets then the hacker. The hacker used about 5500 to 6000 the 32-3 is using 6000 to 6500 in 10 minuets, batteries temps are about 5 degrees higher also, up to about 125 degrees :glasses:

hey , yeh the actro is slightly a gas eater , but what some torque huh? try a 32-4 with 13s3ps he he ,my newly remodified fury E conversion thats equiped with the new 13s3p pro lites series, titanium main shaft and the actro shaft too, and a new carbon battery mount for the 3 batteries , its looks sharp now ,
one great feature with the 13s is , take the 3s off the front , and run just 10s3ps with the same gearing and have a mild flinger with 1500 headspeed for 20 + minutes, man it keeps going and going, OR run the 13s in there and dail down the
esc throttle curve to 50% + and fly longer , havent tried that yet , I always ran it at 100% gov. but dont try this with a 77 , I have the 40-160 schulze esc , 160amps cont. and 210 peak :smokin:

Yeah, the 32-3 heli will pull on the order of 37 to 40 amps in a full throttle hover. This with 700mm MAH G-2's. It consumes peaks of around 90 amps...it is thirsty. But it's ability to shed heat and put out torque are unrivaled.
I like this motor a lot, it always lands at a temp that is just over ambient and runs strong as long as your battery holds up.
Coupled with the new TP ProLites, well...you know...

How are you liking the Tanics? Ok I guys. The only reason I ask is because in my Shock Flyer using the 800+mah TP two cell gives noticeably moor power then the 800+mah Tanic. Kind of unrelated but still kind of related :glasses:

Which 830's you got RUSS? the old long one or the new small one? TP doesnt make a 800 its either a 730 or a 900..
Chris has flown them ask him his opinion
Both the new TP pro lite 8000's and the new Tanic 8880's have plenty of power

Hi Bobby
The Thunder Powers I have are 860 two cell and the Tanics are 830s. The Tanics are short, 3/8” shorter then the TPs and have the two taps for checking the V. They both work good I had just noticed that the TPs had moor power.
I am flying the Pro Lite 8000s on my Ions and the head is over 2k, I clocked it on the ground at mid stick 2140

hey , my fury scared me alittle at 100% with the 13s under the hood , but it sounds so cool , I have it setup on a knob , aux 4 , on my JR , man it has the best soft start I have ever seen , it starts real slow to about 200 rpms and stays there for about 3 seconds , and winds up the rest of the way , man the blades never swing back , soulds like a turbine fireing up when it hits the delay at 200 for 3 seconds .
now I need to get the 32-4 and 32-3 heli version , do away with the 5mm shaft , seams like that might be my weak link

Well there you go a 860 is more mah of course you are going to know a power differance you should try a Tanic 2s 1050 :smokin: (I use one in my shocky)
HEHE you want to talk about grunt  or head speed :dontknow
RUSS you goin to SEEFF?? if so i will let you fly a set so you can   and then :smokin:

SEEFF? Dont know which Fun Fly that is, but probably not. I doubt that if every thing was equal between these two batteries that 30mah would make the drastic difference that there is, but 10 x .860 is 8.6A and 10 x .830 is 8.3A so maybe this would account for the power difference. O well these small batteries don’t manner it’s the big ones that manner to me, sounds like there doing good!
