Is anybody running the s9257 tail servo on their mini-titan?

If so, how do you like it and does it have enough torque for the tail?

I was also tempted tp try the s9257 but in my opinion the 9650 is better if run @6V it is fast enough and it has more torque than s9257. On a 4.8V system i will use s9257.

I'm gonna run mine on 6volts to see what happens.

If you solder a 10cents IN4004 diode inline, it will step the voltage down. You can get them in Radio Shack.

I did this on my T-rex 450 to run the s9257 at 6 volts. It works a treat

Well I got a BEC that runs at 5 volts, but I don't want to take it all apart and solder it on there. I've read that a few guys are running it at 6volts without any problems.

I wonder if I can get a little more torque running it at 6v.

hows the servo working at 6 volts? Any problems?

Flew it last week, and it flew great.

ooooo, interesting. Definatly subscribing to this thread.

I'm using the s9257 on my V2 with the bulky 5.1v regulator and it's not a pretty sight. Would be nice to use it without. I just stuck the DMM on the output from the bec on the ESC and it's bang on 6v. I was hoping it would be slightly lower.

I am just finishing my Mini T and came across this thread. i have fitted 9267 thinking it was the best out there but after reading this I'm not so sure.
I have a one way step down somewhere in my toolbox, will this work (5.1v)

Yeah, 5.1v is fine.

I decided to try mine on 6v, with no issues after 6 hard 3D flights. It would be interesting how much faster it is on the higher voltage but i've got no way of accuratly testing it.

I figure 4.8v nicad will give ~5.8v when fully charged, I think that as long as the end points are set properly with the limit pot on the gyro, and there's no binding anywhere 6v should be ok. I've also got the weighted tail blade grips from kevin (fireup), so that also helps reduce the load on the servo.

On the down side, it's an expensive servo to replace if it does burn up.

I am just building mini titan with 4s set up and have bough the 9257 servo over the 9650. As I am also running a CC 45 esc I am having to fit a seperate BEC (Medusa 6v). How do I get the tail servo down to 4.8v, is just a step needed?
Might be a silly question but this is all new to me!!!

Thanks Si, will try it. I forgot I had posted this hence next post being basically same question!!! doh
