Guys,

I'm lucky enough to have two N9's with GY611's onboard. The other day I had one of my sponsored friends fly one machine. He commented that the tail bounced a little after a harsh stop. To be honest with the moves I've been doing I hadn't noticed, but now that he's mentioned it I've been trying to get rid of the bounce. I seem to have it on both machines.

My GY611 has the standard setting apart from; D1IB 15% D1DB 50% to soften the start and stop's as recommended on the site somewhere.

Am running 34 gain in Heading Hold mode, and have set things up so that the tail is perfectly centred in Normal mode. Am using F3C mode....

Any ideas?

PS. Tried using the Gain Tracking faciltiy on the 611 (page 18 of the manual). Ranging +20 to - 20. Didn't notice any difference...

Hey John,

Try bumping your avcs gain up to 37 (37 on the amp screen, not the radio...) This seems to be the magic number. With the new QuickUK thrusted tail I can go as high as 55-60 with no hunting but it holds just fine at 37-40 so there is no need for going higher for my flying as it is now... I use 3D mode, you may try that too just for fun.

Hey Fog,

Thanks for that. I'll give 37 on the amp a go & 3D.

Tail seemed to wagg in 3D mode. What settings do the top 3D pilots use on their GY611's. Anyone know?

I just set mine up per nigel brown's setup instructions, he also flys (the crap out of) a synergy, maybe you can pm him for more help on your setup.

I do think you may want a few degrees of anti-torque pitch set up at center stick / center servo travel, this is how the rex works out with the pitch slider centered anyway, don't know about the synergy.

This problem could be caused by lots of things other than the gyro setup too, for instance too much drag in the pitch slider setup, bad or wrong tail blades, too low a headspeed, excessive play in the torque tube gearing, maybe even a problem with the governor ?, bad or worn out tail grip bearings, ect.

Just some thoughts.
