I don't know what the more experienced guys will say but it looks to me like a cheap copy of a TREX

Yeah, those are TRex SE V2 mechanicals. That frame looks like it may be a little flimsy to me, and I'm not crazy about how the tail boom is mounted. If I were you, I'd just save up and get an Align TRex 450.

Avoid this heli !!! Look at where the main shaft mates to the frame , its only a single bearing !!!!!

Thanks guys I was just scoping things out. I am trying to avoid buying a knock off. Unfortunatley Korea is full of them and on top of that they are cheap knock offs that they charge an arm and leg for.

Where the heck are you supposed to mount the cyclic servos on that thing!?

This is a helicopter built with non-Align T-Rex after-market parts. Everything from the frame to the rotorhead are knock-offs or not so good upgrades. With the popularity of the T-Rex, these knock-off helis are a dime a dozen.

Here is another weird looking heli. The head looks different anyway.
I should make a game of it. Spot the knockoff.

The sjm is not a knock off of a rex. It is what it is. Some may say it's a knock off a 3dmp.
Rc-Teck has a 500 sjm for sale now.

There are upper and lower flanges that accomodate the cyclic servos. It's easy to see two of them. The other can be seen, but is somewhat behind the mainshaft.

I have to agree with the concern that the mainshaft is supported by only one bearing (or at best two bearing very closely coupled).

It looks to me like the main shaft is supported by two bearings, one at the bottom near the main gear and the other at the top of the part that also holds the cyclic servos. The problem I see is that assembly is affixed to a single flat piece of metal that would probably flex like crazy. I have the feeling flying it would be like flying a helicopter that is composed of cooked spagetti.

It looks like a very weak design, but being so it would be a deal is it were as cheap as it where poor. Imagine 50$ 450 all metal airframe

Same thing that is found @ Xheli.com. They call it the Vulcan 450 SE. All three servos mount up on the blue main shaft guides. The pics shown in this url show where the control linkage will end up being once you've added electronics onboard;

IMHO not worth it unless you have the money to throw away. It'll probably fly pretty well, but I doubt parts are readily available and who knows about the build quality? Better off saving your pennies/Won and buying a quality brand heli!

Best bet other than the Rex is the Mini-Titan. Cheap and flies really good! Good luck with the search.

Never seizes to amaze me what kind of market stunts you find out there e.g. from X-helis homepage TODAY:

****Our normal price: $599.95****
****Today's price: $169.95*****

hehe, indeed! I was originally only looking for a cheap-O FP from them and quickly learned most of the workings. On the lower end stuff they are at best ok, but the "higher end" stuff really scares me. I suppose if there is a market there, someone will always try to underdog everyone else. Never hurts to look, but the bait usually is never worth it!

Yup, I have X-heli to thank for my awesome Walkera 22e. I can only really blame myself. I did not do any research, just looked for price, and they popped up pretty quick. Oh well, I still have it, I have fixed it many times, and it flies...

if you look closely the camshaft is supported by 2 bearing in a aluminum mast to the minster wont flex on the bearing but the frame
