ok guys mabe you can help me here......My buddie gave me his trex450xl to "set up" for him. this heli has a futuba gy240 gyro with a hitec hs 65 tail servo.the radio is a JR 6102. Heres the problem...when I spool up the heli as soon as Im about to lift off the tail starts spinning wildly. The main blades and tail blades are rotating in the correct postion. The tail blades leading edge is rotating up into the main blade "wash"
Another thing, when the heli is spooled up, you can give the tail full left rudder or full right rudder and the servo wont go back to center when the stick is relesed. Yes the servro direction is correct, yes the avs is on.
Im lost here.....my 401 never gave me this type of problems! Any info would help...THANKS!

A heading hold gyro will not return to center when at rest, it's perfectly normal for it to do this. Your spinning should be that you need to reverse the gyro with the dip switch on the gyro itself, when it is wrong the tail will spin rapidly just as you get light on the skids. Hope this helps, Alan.

Give right rudder, the servo should pull the rod frontwards. If thats wrong reverse the rudder channel.

Pick up the heli and turn the nose left (counter clockwise when looking down) and again the servo should pull the rod, if thats backwards flip the NOR-REV switch on the gyro.
