Hopefully, Andy (the proprietor) won't mind me posting this: Aero Hobbies is hosting a helicopter Fun Fly to celebrate their 10th year in business. Details can be found on their web site:

I've only just recently started to buy my heli parts there and I have been very happy with the experience. If I don't want to, or can't, make the drive across town to the shop, I can get any part in stock shipped to my door in one day without having to pay for expedited shipping. Their prices are also very competitive.

The Fun Fly is only about an hour drive for me, so I definitely plan to participate. I hope to see some of you HeliFreaks there.

I just thought I'd bump this to the top since the event is only 10 days away. I'm psyched.:thumbs-up2:

Tomorrow's the day. It looks like it may be a bit windy, which should be really interesting for my little 450-class Diablo. I'm looking forward to a fun day!

It was a great event, despite the fact that I crashed twice in four flights (I've got to get a more visible color scheme on my Diablo's canopy!). I just wish I had won the T-Rex 600 Nitro that was given away in the raffle. The wind picked up a little late morning into the afternoon, which didn't impact the nitro birds and 600 electrics, but it was a challenge for 450 electrics such as mine.

Many thanks to the 114th Aero Squadron and Aero Hobbies for hosting the event. Also, many thanks to the folks I talked to, although I should be cursing them for giving me the bug to buy a nitro bird even though my Diablo isn't even paid off yet!
