I'm really close now to ordering a Logo 500 3D.
Where in the US can I get good part support for like skids, canopies, main shafts, etc, etc.. that are needed for a regular crash?

Thanks Jeremy.
I was looking at the price of the canopy and it looks like its selling for around $85 bucks!!!
That is crazy. When I saw that price, that just shot my hopes of getting a Logo now.

Are you looking at the Logo 600 Glass canopy? I don't thing the 500's plastic canopy is that much.

Hmmm. Can you please direct me to a place where they sell the plastic ones? Honestly, I think now that the only thing holding me back from getting the Logo. I have $485 bucks saved up. I already have all the electronics. I want to strip my Raptor e550 clean and put it on the Logo.

Go with the 500DX Vic. It will serve you well for some time to come.

Even with the 500dx, where can I get the plastic replacement canopies?

Don't know Vic. However, they should be available soon as more and more kits get sold. Don't let the price of a stinking canopy stop you. LIVE ON THE EDGE A LITTLE!!!:flamedevil

So parts availability pretty much is zero for the Logo. 1st thing that usually breaks in a crash is the canopy. I guess I'll have to wait a few more months till Mikado get full stock of thier products to US Suppliers. Makes me sad!!!
I dont' want to buy it, then have a crash and have no stinken canopy to put on it. That would suck big time.
Its funny, cause last month I was gonna by the Logo, but then they were having all the issues with the gears stripping. Now they include the new metal motor mount, and mod 7 gear, which is cool. I was ready to buy it, till I started reseaching parts availability. man.

I have crashed my Logo 10 plenty of times, and although the canopy is lightweight plastic it has held up remarkably well.
Oh, and you're looking for part # 4111.

I just went looking through the manual (version 1.1) to try and find part numbers for the canopy and came across some discrepancies.
On page 21, the canopy for the Logo 500 3D (fiberglass version) is listed as part # MIK4109 for $85 as Vic said but then on page 22, it looks like there is an alternative model number to choose from - #4111. Also, it looks like the pictures of the different canopies are wrong next to the part number description (see attachment). I can find the decals (#4083) listed on sites for $18 but not the canopy. I'm guessing the canopy should go for around $20-$25 based on the descriptions of how flimsy they are but its our guess at this point. Hopefully they will come out soon because that could be a deciding factor for me as well.
For another shock, take a look at the cost of the metal motor plate (#4088) for $64 while the plastic version is only $14. Good thing they throw in the metal ones in the kit for free now.
Mikado (or rep) can you please post when the plastic canopies will become available?

Ahhh, you beat me too it since I was looking around and writing when you posted. At least there is hope for a cheaper version of the canopy.

I just emailed Aero-Model to see if they have the plastic canopies available.
I've been back and forth so many times on this Logo 500. I need to just go ahead and place the order. If I end up crashing, I'll have to figure something out. Maybe put some duct-tape on the canopy to keep it together. :)
In the 5 months I've had my Raptor e550, I've only crashed it 3 times. So, I should be ok with the Logo. I hope!!!! :)

OK, just found it on a site from Norway for 410,00 kr (krone) (http://www.technoflight.no/shop/index.php?cPath=2_97_98&sort=2a&page=6) and using ratios of price differences between known parts listed in the US (instead of using converter). It looks like the canopy should go for around $63 which is still WAY too expensive for something of the quality being described. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Holy crap Vic you worry alot man, lol. The parts are low at alot of vendors cause the heli is so new. The Germans have never been like Align where they send a shmagma of parts with the firs kits. Typical of releases they had in past the parts usually come in waves after the kits have been out for awhile, 1-3 months...Usually the more important parts, gears, belts, booms are first etc....

It's only a few parts that are actually new, these being mainly the sideframes, booms, main shafts, main gear, almost everything else is from an earlier Logo incarnation and after a few early hiccups, UK stocks of spares are pretty good now.
My 500 3D has been a crash test dummy a few times now and as jamesotron99 says, it survives quite well, usually you can ease out the worst of the wrinkles with you fingers. I hated the canopy when I first bought the heli but now I appreciate how light it is.

I've had a hard inverted auto from a esc failure that busted my landing gear and did crack one side of the frame around the battery. The canopy survived pretty good. I think the design is nice since its light and very flexible. It's not gonna crack in a crash just bend and hence survive pretty nice. I do agree that it shouldn't be too spendy though. I also broke the flybar but thats it. the blades did contact the ground (they survived) and ding the tailboom but both mainshaft and feathering shaft stayed true. Oh and it wasn't the hardened mainshaft. Some epoxy fixed the frame up still feels strong
